***Official 2016 NFL Scouting Combine Thread***

Let's say best case scenario Jalen Ramsey plays like Ed Reed and Vernon Hargreaves plays like Darrell Green.  If you could only pick one which would you want or think that will help out the Jaguars the best going fwd?

Lol based on your SN I assume you are a bit more bias towards Vernon than Jalen?

Honestly I was hoping the Jaguars could draft them both!

Quote:Oklahoma defender Charles Tapper stood out in every drill. He will be interesting to watch moving forward. He could be a sleeper candidate at Otto linebacker for the Jaguars.

Tapper did stand out today. I might go and watch a few cut ups of him when I have some free time.

I like Ramsey but not at 5 and dont see a ball hawk like you speak of.  If you want ball hawking skills there is a safety at WV that had as many INTs in one game than Ramsey does in is whole college career and hits harder at that.  Can you show me the ball hawking skills you speak of with Ramsey though?  If we pick Ramsey I will stand behind the pick but I hope we get Jack or Bosa

Quote:Vernon Hargreaves CB Florida Gators ran a 4.3 in Under Armor Combine!

We will see tomorrow how he does but would you be upset if he went #5 overall should the Titans take Ramsey?

He beat Ramsey in bench press by one (15 to 14).
Ramsey also has arms that are 3 inches longer than Hargreaves. Shorter arms are an advantage in the bench press.

I highly doubt Hargreaves runs a 4.3 tomorrow.

He's got a pretty good back story on YouTube right now.

Very likeable guy and seems genuine.

Green, I would rather take away half the field.

Re Tapper:

He has a funky 3 point stance and sometimes lines up in a 4 point stance. I'm not sure if that's by design in OU's defense or just bad technique on his behalf but it causes him to come off the ball late and not being able to fire off the snap. I do believe he would have better success standing up in an OTTO role vs playing with his hands down.

Ronald Blair often lines up in a 4 point stance and he has a fairly quick, strong jump/punch on his initial get off. I'm a fan of Blair and he's a true 4-3 DE imo. Wouldn't mind seeing him on this roster. I think he can flat out play.

I know some guys are just more comfortable/natural in a certain stance, but I don't really think it's a big deal.

Bout to start Tapper's cut ups right now.

If we draft Ramsey or Jack in the 1st what do yall think the chances of Ogbah being there in the 2nd are?

I would say there is a chance, but I thought he looked good today. Fast and fluid. I could see the Panthers taking him if he falls to them.

I don't think there's any chance Ogbah makes it into the 2nd round. I always thought he was more of a pure power guy, so I was pretty surprised by how he performed today.

In a class that isn't very strong at the EDGE, he was pretty impressive, for his size.

I don't think it's a major issue and it's something that is easily adjusted it was just something I noticed.

I only got to watch the 2013 cut up against Bama. I got busy with some other things, but he definitely has an odd stance there. 4 point usually like you said, but it's like he's just sitting back on his feet.

Quote:Sorry I'm a page or two late on the Bosa comments, but no Bosa is obviously not Watt. Watt's workout was 4 (!) deviations above the norm. Someone having those numbers again at his weight is statistically not supposed to happen for another 300 years.

What Bosa did was still pretty eye popping.
I was looking over Nkemdiche's numbers. He is pretty close to Watt in terms of athleticism for his density. He should be a force player.

Watt:

Height: 6'5''

Weight: 290lbs

40 yard: 4.91

10 yard: 1.71

Vert: 37''

Broad:  10'00''

Shuttle: 7.21

3-cone: 6.88

Nkemdiche:

Height: 6'3''

Weight: 294

40 yard: 4.87

10 yard: 1.68

Vert: 35''

Broad: 9'8''

So Nkemdiche is denser and has a better 40 and 10 yard split while being just a hair behind in the jumps. Nkemdiche's arms are also 34 inches long like Watt's. Too bad he doesn't have half the character Watt has. Man if he wasn't a [BLEEP] he would be the best player in this draft by far.

Agreed.  Reed was sick as a Safety, but I like a shutdown corner that is reliable every week.

Plus I think Vernon has a better chance of being a Darrell Green than Jalen does of being an Ed Reed.
