So quick question, Washington has under $12M in cap space according to overthecap.com. How the hell can they afford Josh Norman?

Even if we were really interested he would use us for leverage to get more money from 49ers. Josh Norman would never play for a small market team.

<p class="">Josh Norman’s deal, when complete, expected be between $14 to $15 MIL per year, per sources. 5-year deals being discussed with Wash and SF.

We are still in it, 14 mil is not too much for the top CB on the market, prob got more if he hit the market earlier

Washington can't afford him. And who would want to play for Chip Kelly? I dunno, still don't think Jags will make a serious play for him. We are pretty much built

@chadevanssports The @Jaguars' interest in Josh Norman is stronger than media members like @AdamSchefter claim, but it's still not as strong as SF, WASH.

What's the downfall, from a cap perspective, of signing him and making the contract incredibly front loaded?

Reply

Also, his age isn't as big of a deal as some of you are making it. He still has a few years of elite play in him and there is no reason to expect him to be a liability by year 5.

You pay the man and find his replacement in the draft in the next few years.

There is none. I don't think Caldwell is as interested as we would like him to be. Or Norman isn't interested. Either way doesn't seem like we're major players as of now.
