If Carolina thinks he isn't worth the tag of 14 million, I wouldn't sign him. He isn't worth Peterson or Sherman money. But everyone is getting overpaid but he is definitely worth less than what he will get which will be around 15 mill a year.

We'll be fine people. It's not like he's Revis in this prime or Deion; hell or Patrick Peterson. He played very well last year. Prior to that, he was on nobody's radar; minus the Carolina peeps. If Dave doesn't see his value at 14m a year +, I'm cool with it. I do think he would be a great addition in our secondary and would make our Defense much better than it has been; but that doesn't mean he's necessarily worth the amount he wants or the terms he wants. We've come strides above last years defense so far and haven't even been through the draft yet. As Arnold said, "Chill oooouuuuuuttttttt!"

I think you have stop thinking about it in term of is the players personally worth the money. His stats may not be worth 15 million, but in the constraints of the cap, the availability of quality players at the position, our need to win NOW and the improvement he brings to the defense worth the contract at 15 million. Yes it is. We don't need him to come here and be the best corner in the NFL even if he is the highest paid corner. We need him to come here and improve our secondary and help this team into the playoffs and further. He can do that.

I'm not sure this makes sense. Firstly we signed Malik to a monster contract and offered obscene amounts to Vernon. He's not afraid. Also being afraid for the reason you said doesn't make sense either. If he loses his job it will be because the team continues to lose. How would getting Norman make us lose more. Even if he ended up playing just above average instead of an all pro level he would still be helping the team. So it just makes sense that the reason we were probably not going after him is because Dave just doesn't believe he will improve the team close to how much money he wants. Whether that is him being an off the field problem or on the field is unknown but it's obviously his belief. He's not afraid to spend money.
