Jags makeing huge mistake by not going after Norman. If they wereto sign him the team would become an intest playoff contender. He was a big reason panthers went to super bowl last year.  not  signing him only gurantees the jags another loseing season of 4-12. Normon could help the jags out big time. 

100% agreed.  We're AT BEST a 4-12 team without Norman.  Caldwell should be getting ready for a top 3 pick next year right now (assuming he has a job).  With Norman?  I can't even think about how dominant we would be.  16-0 EASILY.  We probably could be resting all the 10 other starters once we clinch playoffs and just have Norman out there with 3rd stringers and we'd still go undefeated.  Norman is the best CB ever in the history of the game.  If we signed him, League MVP, Super Bowl MVP BOOK IT!!!

It's a shame we weren't really interested in Norman. Corners like that don't hit the open market that often, especially when we have the cap room. It almost seems like Dave is afraid to make that one move that could fail and cast doubt on his job.

To be fair, he did just hand Malik $90 million and signed a pro bowl safety (our biggest need) to a big money deal. And then there was last year when he signed Julius to a huge contract. Caldwell's problem is not lack of aggression, in fact Caldwell has done a good job as GM. When is the last time the roster has had this much talent?

The main thing holding this team back is the dopey head coach. Time to bring in a coach who actually cares about winning. The next step is to establish a winning culture, and that doesn't happen when your coach subscribes to loser talk like "at least we got better, winning doesn't matter."

I follow Ryan O on twitter and I don't see the comment anywhere about Dave saying that Norman would make us better but not significantly better.  Seems odd.......

I disagree with Dave though. Reading between the lines, Dave is saying Norman wants elite money but is not elite in his opinion. Where I disagree is that I do feel Norman qualifies as elite here, and I do feel he'd make the secondary significantly better.
