50 Dead at Orlando Night Club The Pulse In Act Of Terror

Quote:Yeah, the Christian God hasn't had it out for the gays en masse for decades. That is so 80's.

Exactly. Christians have been carrying out terrorist attacks for years and year yet nobody says anything.

The 9/11 attacks were all Christian dudes and it gets covered up.

Quote:Agreed 100%...This guy has been under FBI watch. Twice. Yet, he can LEGALLY purchase an assault rifle , pistol, [BAD WORD REMOVED] load of ammo. Argue all you want with the 2nd amendment, but for the life of me ( literally ) I cant understand how a guy like this can go in and buy this stuff...well..I guess its because its his right. Ok. Then we live..or dont...with the consequences.

Sounds like the FBI failed to connect the dots.

I think they were thrown off by his Muslim beliefs. These guys usually don't do this kind of stuff.

Slightly off topic but I'm still just trying to figure out how the scumbag got an assault rifle in the club. I'm mean nightclubs don't have the best of security but you usually go thru a pat down at the door (not that a pat down would be needed for carrying an assault rifle.....)

i think the better question is how he got the ammo in.  the amount of bullets it would take to injure this many people is alot. i think he might have somehow had a stockpile waiting for him in the club he hid in the building earlier.

or there is more than one shooter.

Quote:There are survivors saying that there was more than one shooter. This would make sense considering the amount of casualties and the amount of ammo required to hit so many people.

Interesting. This is the first I've read or heard anything about possible additional shooters.

I highly doubt this is true. Someone would have picked up on it by now.

This much figures under the current administration.

But...they may have connected the dots. But legally, the guy had the right to purchase

It's far more convenient to the Obama agenda for this to be a lone wolf. Never mind that it would be incredibly difficult for a lone wolf to carry enough ammunition and reload enough times for even a 1.5:1 hit ratio. If there were multiple shooters, you bet that information would have a very high chance of being withheld.

it's also simply possible that OPD and the FBI dont want to tip the other shooters that they know about them. i find it difficult to believe they ruled out the possibility without speaking to all the witnesses.

Or

Quote:When asked during the news conference if there was a chance that people might have been struck by friendly fire, or in the crossfire, Chief Mina said: “I will say that is all part of the investigation. But I will say when our SWAT officers, about eight or nine officers, opened fire, their backdrop was a concrete wall. And they were being fired upon, so that is all part of the investigation.”

If they connected the dots then they should have interrogated or brought him in. What is the point of connecting the dots if you aren't going to do anything about it?

They investigated and he came out clean. We do not take away people's rights on suspicion and we don't convict them of pre-crime.

But it's also possible the FBI didn't do their job correctly in the first place.

Here we go again...all this does is pull the " 9/11 was Bush and administration fault" responses...like now. Blame can go all around..FBI? CIA? DHS? A do nothing Congress?

What should be done? Tougher gun laws? No Muslims allowed? Mandatory arming of all citizens? Calling it Islamic Terror vs Terror?

If you think this wont happen again under whoever the next POTUS is, then you are naive at best, which I dont think is the case. Agenda? Perhaps

Eventually things will change..surveillance laws...Patriot Act imposed and expanded. What we call our freedoms will slowly erode, if not for just self preservation.

Yes, that's true. It doesn't have any impact on the idea that people's rights should be taken away because they are under investigation or because they end up on some government shadow list like the No Fly. Presumption of Innocence is a bedrock of our culture and not something to mess with ever.

How about tighter background checks for those hired by agencies responsible for national security?
