Other than one American swimmer costing himself millions in otherwise-guaranteed endorsements, USA fared pretty well as a country. The real winner was Brazil - overcoming a terrible preconception to make it all look good - though the cost (13 billion $$$ or so) will probably never be recouped.

Hope Solo came out a big loser considering her pre-Olympic tweets. Ever notice the anti-Brazil rhetoric was generated by ESPN (owned by ABC). As bad as conditions may or may not have been in Rio, I doubt any of the athletes wish they hadn't been there. There were some memorable moments..
