Debate 9/26/16 - Trump vs Clinton
|
Quote:If he's not paying taxes because of loopholes and such, whose problem is that? If you didn't have to or could pay far less than you do, wouldn't you? And if you didn't take advantage of it wouldn't that make you a bit on the dumb side? He can simply choose not to take advantage of loopholes. That is obvious. Quote:He can simply choose not to take advantage of loopholes. That is obvious. OMG, are you kidding?
Quote:The Clinton's make large donations to the Clinton Foundation...I'm pretty sure donations are tax deductible. That means Hillary does not pay taxes for her foundation. She still is required to (and does) pay taxes on properties and purchases for personal use. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Wait if Trump is just smart for taking advantage of Loopholes... then aren't people like the guy who eats lobster on foodstamps just smart for taking advantage?
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Quote:Wait if Trump is just smart for taking advantage of Loopholes... then aren't people like the guy who eats lobster on foodstamps just smart for taking advantage? sure, you could put it that way. if the government is offering, nobody turns it down nice try though
Quote:his whole point was that the government squanders tax funds... that's 100% true. had he been complaining that people dont pay their fair share, then i could see the argument. It's not 100% true.
Quote:No he didn't. His company paid property taxes... He paid nothing. That's what's so upsetting. If he personally didn't pay property taxes, then they must not be in his name, but the companies. Either way, taxes are being paid on them, no?
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

Quote:OMG, are you kidding?I don't think she is, but I really don't want to go there. I am a bit curious though as to your take. Let's say that Trump didn't pay any Federal income taxes. Let's also say that his manner of not paying them was legal. Do you see him doing so as something perfectly legitimate that anyone in his position would have done, or as taking advantage of a loophole and not paying his 'fair share'? We can go more into what a fair share might be, but are you saying that paying no Federal taxes if you are in Trump's position is OK? Edit - double paste

Or is it from Burke? I tried finding the source, and looked through some of his writings, no luck. Anybody with google-fu got a citation of the source?
Quote:So in Palm beach alone Trump paid 1.2 million in property taxes I can only imagine what his total real estate property tax amount is. The guy pays a fortune in taxes but probably not enough for everyone's liking. I'm sure when the income tax return does become common knowledge they will attack the man for it but when you own as much property as Trump does the vast majority of taxes you are paying are property taxes. Whether we should have to pay income taxes or not is irrelevant. We do have to pay them, and so does the idiot who said he is smart to not pay taxes. It also does not matter what kind of taxes he is not paying. Both income and property taxes must be paid. Unfortunately the correct word is if, not when, because his condition for releasing them is the retrieval of 33,000 deleted emails. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:He is a privileged hypocritical bigot who games the American tax system simply because he has the privilege to do so. Just because one can legally get away with something doesn't make it any less immoral. Ding ding ding, we have a winner! I will never understand why Trump thinks hundreds of millions of Americans will believe him when he says it is smart to not pay taxes.
This just in...Trumps sniffing throughout the debate is tied to his exhaustive campaigning and now needs a little " bump" to get him by.
That was the real reason he went to Mexico. It's true. Saw it on FB.
Blakes Life Matters
Quote:Who decides what fair is anyway? Wouldn't fair technically be the same % across the entire board whether you make 30K or 3M? A fair share would be income-based percentages, not the same for rich and poor people. If you put a flat tax on all taxpayers, many of them would go bankrupt.
Quote:Ding ding ding, we have a winner! There isn't a person on this message board that willingly pays more than they have to pay in taxes. Period.

Following a system that he had no part in creating does not make him a bad or unethical person. Would you voluntarily pay more taxes than you had to? A government with that many loopholes deserves to get screwed. Having said that, loopholes need to be closed so everyone pays a "fair share".
I just watched the first segment of the debate... and all I've heard from Clinton is her trying to promote her book which has tanked on any best seller list, and her website.
Between the two points of view so far, I'll go Trump. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
