Quote:It's a fallacy that lower taxes increases job growth. Its just not proven to be true. Its a lie told by corporations. Trickle down supply side economics just doesn't work.

Great. But what bothers me is when he said we also have to keep wages low in order to keep up with competition like. China, Mexico, etc.

So Jobs, jobs, jobs could be interpreted as McDs, BK and Sales at Penneys.

If he brings his tie manufacturing business back, and pays minimum wage, who gives a piss?

Sorry you have a cold, but it isn't that simple. First, Reagan created fewer jobs than Clinton, despite having far larger cuts. Obama created more jobs than Bush, and raised taxes. It isn't some one to one correlation. However the revenue did drop during the Reagan years, and the deficit grew sharply. So no.

Quote:And yet when Moody's evaluated his plan, they projected shortfalls and debts in the trillions, if I remember correctly. Now I don't claim they are the be all end all by any means, but it seems to me the math is not too complicated. Take the total tax returns from 2016, subtract the amount that he is going to cut taxes, and that is your shortfall in revenue. The money to replace it would have to exceed by the growth in income times the percentage of new lower taxes. Indeed, we have a historical model for this. He claimed he would have the most growth since the Reagan years. So set that as an upper bound. I think that is about 2% job growth, so not sure how that tracks. The Reagan tax cuts cost a great deal of revenue, although they did help curb inflation. But Reagan pretty much bailed on Laffer in 1984, and I don't see any evidence that your 'jobs' solution holds water.

What he said ^^

Yes, but they're also done at random. An income north of $100k/yr. paints a big red bullseye on your back. Angering the President, as we saw a few years back, all but guarantees that auditors will be crawling up your tailpipe looking for wrongdoing. Beyond that, the vast majority of audits find only minor errors, if any errors at all. Being audited just means that you have a pulse and you make enough money that the government thinks they should get a little more from you.

My favorite part of the debate was Clinton saying Trump has something to hide. Laughable.

Well, considering that she's the one who left American secrets on a bathroom floor, I'd say that she has no idea what that means.

I get what you mean... But Hillary has gone through the equivalent of like 300 rectal exams with this email thing and Bengazi thing.

Trump won't even let Americans see his taxes. Something he bashed mitt Romney for in 2012. I think its pretty safe to say he has something hide?? Why is he not releasing his returns?

It's a really bad look for him.

Trumps debate performance is driving the cycle... Even fox this morning was having a hard time defending trump.

CNN at least has that hot blonde and goofy old guy on constantly defending trump. Its not a 100% bash fest. The negative news cycle is based on trumps performance, mostly...

Dont forget his tax returns too. We are talking about real American problems here! Maybe next debate, she can deflect from herself even more and bring up Trump University.

I'm a small business owner for 20 years. I've also spent 25 years in Corporate America as a mid-level executive. I can assure you giving me tax breaks will NOT create jobs. Why would I hire more cooks, and servers, and dishwashers given tax breaks? So they can sit around twiddling their thumbs eating up payroll? Of course not.

Give the tax breaks to my customers so instead of eating out once per month they eat out once per week. Then I'll have the revenue coming in, and the demand, to hire more servers, cooks, and dishwashers. Create the demand.

But what do I know, I'm kinda new at this job creation thing.

Regards...................the Chiefjag

And yet even CNN has to admit today that Trump continues to gain in battle ground states. Hell, they're tied in Minnesota of all places. You think Trump lost only because that's what you want to believe. In truth he's taking control of this race and that's bad news for Shrillary.

Trump's main advantage in Minnesota: after October 1, there's nothing to do up there but sit inside and drink beer.

As someone not supporting either candidate,  what stood out for me more than anything in this debate is how bias Lester Holt was in favor of Hillary Clinton.   It literally felt like Holt is part of the Clinton campaign.   Holt's question about the ' birther' issue didn't bother me.  What was EXTREMELY disturbing is Holt made the ' birther' issue a race issue.  Basically,  that's a Hillary Clinton talking point.   Regardless what political party Holt is registered as a voter,  he's now officially in the class of Candy Crowley when it comes to bias from a debate moderator.

I mentioned this earlier. Was told he's a registered republican, so therefore I'm wrong. Glad I'm not the only one who saw this.
