Besides nuclear fallout, what would happen if you detonated a nuclear bomb in the eye of a hurricane?

That would be an interesting thing...

If you did it while the Hurricane was over water, you'd flash boil a lot of water causing a large pressure spike. Where things would get interesting is to see what effect the rapid heating and pressure spike would have on the Hurricane. You'd think that it might dissipate it, but I really have no idea.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

<p class="">Sheriff Mike Williams: "Only 30% of people living in Jacksonville Beach have evacuated. We are encouraging more people start evacuating."

If you look at a map of Jacksonville, pretty much most people east of I-95 as well as people in other areas near the creeks and rivers.  My home happens to sit up on a "hill" near the river and should stay out of the flood zone.

Me too, I live on a "bluff" in Mandarin in Zone A near a creek. I feel bad for my neighbor across the street. I look out my window at their roof. Hope they leave.

While I'm no scientist, this has "bad idea" written all over it.

any jax people on here who dont live on the beach or the intracoastal area, have you evacuated?  I'm about 2 miles south of Ft Caroline Rd kind of close to the Dames Point Bridge.  Should I worry about the river overflowing and flooding me

I am at Monument Ft. Caroline which is semi near you and we are staying put. We are 40 feet above sea level so I think we are fine.

Yes, we are pretty close. Thanks for the reassurance.

Local news websites - FAIL

If you watch on TV they are all pushing their "apps" in case of a power outage.  Try to go to any of their websites right now and watch live...  it's pretty much hit-or-miss.

And there should be something done about having to watch a mini commercial before you can get to the important news info when you click on the news alert!!
