At least 15 ft sounds a whole lot better than 9. Are all the windows boarded up and all sand bags stacked?

Hopefully he could get sand bags...they were very limited around here.
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

Quote:I'm at 9' also, back by the intercoastal.  If we get flooded, it will be from there first.

You too? I'd have so been out of there.

If you guys must stay, then make the best of it by keeping us updated on all the details. You know, like "there goes the roof." Just kidding on the roof, but do let us know that your safe, etc, and what's going on from the inside.

Would you mind sealing your tickets up in a ziplock bag and securing them to the generator stand?  I'm thinking about starting a pool (no pun intended) and they'll make a nice prize for some lucky contestant.  Winner is whoever picks the closest time to when you're last seen, sitting on the roof of your house as you float down the intercoastal.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

No, we left yesterday.  We're outside of Lake City.  Got a nice cabin with a full, kitchen, living room, bedroom, screen porch, etc.

Quote:I can just see that pitch meeting:

Tidal wave that destroys San Fran? Not good enough, it's been done.

Tidal wave that throws a cargo ship through the Golden Gate bridge? Still not enough, we need more.

Tidal wave, cargo ship, golden gate bridge and a cruise ship rolling through downtown? No, it needs personalization.

Ok, tidal wave, cargo ship, golden gate bridge, cruise ship, and we drop a cargo container on a guy with a thinly developed back story? closer, closer.

Still needs something else....hmmmmm.. some real Hollywood star power...yeah, get me The Rock on the phone... Hello Dwayne, say, can you drive a boat?

Why does the Awesome-O Pitch scene from South Park jump into my head here?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Tell me about it. Lucky for me I was able to grab some in Starke on my way home from Gainesville yesterday. COJ don't give 2 [BLEEP] about their citizens.

If that happens,  hopefully it won't be longer.

One bit of good news under the overall very difficult situation is that power crews from many other parts of the United States and even parts of Canada very likely will come down to help restore power to areas of Florida, Georgia,  and South Carolina that lose power.    Florida Power and Light were very helpful during Hurricane/ Super Storm Sandy in 2012:

Apparently the hardware stores don't either. I read that none of the stores had sandbags in stock.

How's the storm looking now?  My parents, brother, in-laws are all there, and I haven't heard any updates.

Two are in Bartram Springs, one in Baymeadows, and the other on Girvin.
