Fowler Jr is a bust

Quote:Plus this staff has not developed any pass rushers in 4 seasons, so why would we expect them to do that with Fowler.

Yannick is developing. I would say he is our best defensive lineman outside of our 90 million dollar defensive tackle.

I understand that I'm late w/respect to this posting but, how can someone say that a player is "A Bust" only after 3/4 of a season? When a player is deemed to be a bust, that player usually would have to play on a dismal level for two to three seasons. We all know how his rookie season transpired and we're witnessing his first season back from his injury. Of course as usual I'm being Optimistic but it's too early to tell if Fowler Jr. is or will be a bust. He's definitely not playing to expectations by no means. If he doesn't progress considerably next season and beyond, then he can be labeled as such. Very few players, at any position, plays Lights Out w/no room for improvement. I expect improvement out of everyone...

Is that Canton worthy?

A bust for his draft position sure...but not as a defensive lineman. He just needs an entire season under his belt is all.

Fowler would probably be better as 3-4 LBer or at least put him at the Sam LB spot in a 4-3.  He's not natural rushing off the edge.

Quote:Who really cares?

Fowler is essentially a rookie this season.  If people think that defense has been a problem this season, they really haven't watched the games closely.

Excuses are for weak minded people.

This is not his rookie season.

People said the same thing about Gabbert.

Fowler is gonna be serviceable.  He's an Alualu type player.  A wasted pick at the position he was drafted.

Fowler played a game today.

I wouldn't call it "good".

He was just there.  He's a player.  That is all.

2 pressures and 3 run stops. That's good considering how he has done the last few weeks.

So...  Yeah.  He played today....

Just cuz he was there doesn't mean he's living up to the expectations of his draft position.

He's just a guy.

He had a good game. Nothing more nothing less.

He hasn't looked that good this year but I think he will be in the NFL for a many years. Good run defender.

He had a game.

He played.

If you can't remember an actual play that he made, then what are your really talking about?

The guy is just a guy.

He's Tyson Alualu.

He's a dude that plays a spot that is important.  But he plays it in a way where you don't even recognize that he's playing it.

He's just a dude.  Being just a dude is great if you're a 4th rounder.  But a 1st round pick that is just a dude is a terrible pick.

Maybe he'll get better?
