Caldwell isn't going anywhere

Quote:Every team's list of building blocks is better than this except for the Browns and Niners. And they have done it without having 4 drafts of elite picks and the most cap space in NFL history.

Dave's best con job was gutting the roster so badly that no matter who he acquired he would look good in comparison. Don't compare Dave's bar to friggin Gene Smith and the roster that he utterly dismantled. Compare it to the rest of the league, and Dave just doesn't stack up despite having far more draft and cap room ammo than anyone else.

So he shouldn't of gutted Gene's roster? That dumpster fire that produced Gabbert and a 2-14 season? Wow

Quote:Caldwell has been a target for awhile, even while Gus was employed. The guy stinks and needs to hit the bricks along with Bradley. You aren't gonna catch a marlin with a Wal-Mart fishing pole.

The problem is with the horrible coaching, it's really difficult to tell who is not performing because of said coaching, or a genuine lack of talent. That's why I say one more year. I know it's hard to ask for that with how bad we've been, but it will help establish the answer in either direction.

Not to mention one of Caldwells drafts in 2013 was one of thr worst classes ever. Its not even excuses, everyone had a [BLEEP] draft besides Detroit and maybe 1 or 2 others.

LA has more defensive talent but their line is in much worse shape then ours and their #1 wr is a gadget WR in Austin that is stuck with Goff for at least 2 years.

I think Goff is going to be very bad.

The other big problem has been kind of pointed out. Coaches don't go into their final years of their contracts. Well neither do GMs. They won't let Dave stick around and hire a HC and do another draft of elite picks with huge cap room as a lame duck GM.

We aren't just keeping the only GM in history to be bad enough and somehow stick long enough to make 5 top 5 draft picks, we are also going to be extending him.

Extendinga GM one season has no impact on what his future holds. As Gus has proven. All of this comes out of Khans pocket so who even cares?

Assuming Cyp and Joke get cut, there won't be a single player from that draft on the roster next year. You can't blame the draft class for that. It's all on Caldwell.

Quote:Poor qb play will always be an issue in the NFL. I didn't see anything from Bortles this season that tells me he is fixable in one offseason, if ever. We basically have Mark Sanchez with worse mechanics. Bortles' body language this season is worrisome and definitely not franchise qb material.

I hope a new veteran qb is brought in for competition purposes. Henne is just a seat filler and that needs to change. Probably will be stuck with Bortles again next year, but hopefully we have a decent enough back up that can step in

Anyone who watched Bortles during the 2015 season knows he has the ability to do everything right. It is proof everything is fixable because he used to do everything the right way.

Josh Freeman and RG3 say hello, just because he was good one year doesn`t mean he can get back to that point. Bortles looks like a defeated man so he now has to over come that and all of the issues with his mechanics and his mental issues and i don`t think he can do it.

Wow, thats a blast from the past. I actually forgot about Josh Freeman.

Bortles never actually won a meaningful game with something on the line, so I don't put a lot of weight in his 2015 season outside of fantasy football.

Robert Griffin deteriorated because of his mismanaged right knee injuries, which Blake Bortles never had. Josh Freeman has a problem between his ears.

Can someone please inform MJF that BB5 has a MASSIVE problem between his ears.

Griffin let all the injuries go to his head an ruin him. Bortles has the same issue as Freeman hes clearly lost all confidence in him self and the team around him.

Bortles has none of the problems Freeman did between his ears. It is 100% bad coaching for him. If you don't believe that you are in denial.

So was Bradley a great coach in 2015 and just started to suck this year?

We learned in the Sunday School who made the sun shine through.  I know who made the moonshine too, back where I come from.

Quote:I remember those Mike Lombardi quotes about a month ago saying that our front office wasn't having an honest evaluation with themselves about the talent that have brought in.

I also remember Gus saying just a few weeks ago that he and Dave looked at all of Blake's throws again and their decision was that a lot of other QBs in the league were missing throws too.

Obviously that is just a taste of information, but I think there is at least some evidence that Caldwell isn't self evaluating honestly.
And Mike Lombardi is doing what?  Providing commentary on FS1 because he no longer has a job in the league....

Grain of salt, man.  Grain of salt.
