Sacks aren't just the only stat that define if a player is good or not... Fowler can't get off a block to save his life.. Its possible he can become a great player, but for where he was drafted he haven't lived up to the hype.. This offseaso he needs to work his tail off to get better, and cut the foolishness out.. Or he will end up like another former Gator De we drafted....

 

He cant get off the block but yet he had more tackles and more tackles for Loss then Yanick even tho Fowler played less snaps, Fowler also had more pass deflections.

 

Yanick is a better pure pass rusher, but Fowler is better at everthing else

It is too soon to say Fowler is a bust but his immaturity and personal fouls should not be glossed over either. DFJ was not only playing as a Rookie but he was a year off a torn ACL. 

 
I wouldn't make any excuses for him, he was the #3 overall pick, so having some level of expectation is not unheard of. 

 

Ngakoue is just a beast. I could see him getting 14-15 sacks next year.

Fowlers play improved as the year went on so that's encouraging.


I still think he's a guy that will require schemes and stunts to make an impact but that's ok you just have to get a coach that sees it and uses it.

and just because a defense has a lot of talent doesnt actually equate to them letting Shane run free or something lol. No one is just letting 3-4 olbs go unchecked regularly in the nfl.
