Quote:Lewis, Koyack, and Sterling to me are fine at the TE spot(s). Koyack and Sterling have been developing nicely. Lewis has got another year in him. There are other higher priorities, IMO, on the roster to spend picks or dollars. well that is if you are completely a glass half full kind of guy

<div> <div> <div>More </div> </div> </div> (we might see 10 different TEs above league-average SPARQ after the Combine alone) <div>Zach Whitman<span> </span>@zjwhitman 5m5 minutes ago <div> <div> <div>More </div> </div> </div> (there was barely one last year) </div>
This is basically a new ranking along with their combine numbers...

OJ Howard showing off some agility! 3-cone.. 6.85 20yd Shuttle... 4.16 60yd Shuttle... 11.46 Wow. Ben is a really good source, but those agility drills seem unbelievable to me. If his 3 cone is really a half a second faster than Cooks... We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
KYJaggy, how important is the combine for you?
Caldwell was asked the same question and I'm curious what your answer is. Dave said game tape is by far the most important and the combine is about 20% of the entire evaluation of the player. Seems to me you put way too much stock into a 3-cone drill for example. What if the guy just isn't having a good day, or is sick but is still competing, or has a mental lapse a couple of times, etc? Looks like the way you evaluate players is measurables first and foremost.

Quote:KYJaggy, how important is the combine for you?The measurables matter, whether it's combine or pro day. The progressive, and coincidentally good, teams like the Packers, Seahawks, and now Steelers (the regime that drafts Martavis Bryant's, Ryan Shazier's, and Bud Dupree's and not Jarvis Jones') have pretty rigid athletic thresholds that they rarely cross. Quote:I can pretty much guarantee you Fowler wasn't on the Seahawks board for example.lol, yeah he was undraftable to them. You say some dumb [BLEEP] [BLEEP] sometimes Quote:lol, yeah he was undraftable to them. You say some dumb [BAD WORD REMOVED] [BAD WORD REMOVED] sometimesWas he physically on their draft board...yeah maybe (but also maybe not...Fowler was not even close to passing their thresholds). I can virtually guarantee you they had Frank Clark who they took at 63 way higher. Quote:So you don't know these thresholds? The teams don't exactly come out and broadcast their proprietary information...but guys study those teams specifically in depth. Like Whitman, the 3 sigma SPARQ owner and Seahawks blogger. He's very accurate. He's very accurate. I'm fully aware they don't broadcast information. But you keep talking about these thresholds that you have no idea what they actually are. The best you can do is guess, which is fine, but you state your opinion as if it's fact and are too quick to trust your twitter guys and the information they post. Is their 3 cone threshold 7.08 or 7.09...that might not be exactly clear. But it's reverse engineered pretty darn close, and we sure as hell know it ain't 7.40. Quote:<a class="bbc_url" href='https://twitter.com/BenFennell_NFL'>Ben Fennell @BenFennell_NFL</a> Even with that poor vert that you trashed fournette over? Saying he needs an alley to gain steam. So Howard will need an alley too according to that logic, correct? So all a defender would have to do is jam him to make him completely ineffective. It's nice how you pick and choose who it matters for and who it doesn't. Clearly demonstrates agenda bias.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:And I can pretty much guarantee you're talking out your [BAD WORD REMOVED] again.Y'all really refuse to believe that there was a large group of analytically driven people who really didn't like Fowler, and the Seahawks are right in line with those guys. Well, more like those guys are in line with the Seahawks. |
