If he's there in the third I wouldn't hesitate.

If we pass on him, it's for one of three reasons:

1. He's a complete idiot that said stupid things in his interviews

2. We took Fournette in the first

3. Jaguars have no clue what they're doing.

Trying to play chicken with other franchises and take him late day 2 or day 3 isn't going to work.

Mixon's 4.25 shuttle would've placed him 5th at the NFL Combine among RBs after Christian McCaffrey

I'd take him in the second. I still think he falls out of the first, but man he's going to be a great RB

Yeah some of us argued this in the thread I started a while back. There was immediate, and justified, disgust. And there will be renewed disgust as soon as he is drafted, which will go away relatively quickly.

After the first year, or probably even less, it will be a footnote and some team will have the best running back in the class at a nice discount. Someone's gotta do it and come out way ahead, why not us?

I don't care if he runs 3.2. I don't want this garbage in a Jags jersey.

Quote:Mixon is probably the closest thing to Fred Taylor there is in the draft.

Basically Same height and weight.

Mixon slightly slower than Fred, but better hands.

Speed, agility, power
Broooooooooooo, thats my fingers crossed pick for the draft. I just want defense in rd 1. but i have a STRONG feeling he'll get picked up by a playoff team in the late 1st and then we're back to the drawing board.

S/N: I know i'll probably get tossed under the bus for saying this, but......i would even throw in Marks or someone we are shopping with our 2nd and move up into the late 1st but eh, thats why you fellow fans don't have to suffer through me as GM.

And that's justifiable. But that being said, if Jax does draft him, are you going to be less of a fan of the team in general?

Chiefs fans all said that about hill. Now you'd struggle to find anyone in the stadium not cheering him when he brings one to the house.

Of course, I'll post the SPARQ once we get the weight adjusted scores. It'll be even more impressive.

Joe Mixon allowed 1 QB hurry in 48 pass blocking snaps. His 98.4 pass blocking efficiency ranks 4th-best of 65 qualifying draft-eligible RB.

Lol, he literally does it all.

Graham Barfield‏ @GrahamBarfield

All of Mixon's carries in sample were out of shotgun. He's 2nd in Yards Created/Att from SG. Cook is 1st; Zeke 3rd.

Also a great point since the Jags ran 73% of plays out of shutgun. Unlike Fournette who struggled out of shotgun, we wouldn't have to overhaul the offense if we get Mixon.

That offense is getting an overhaul regardless. I think that 73% shotgun number goes down considerably under Hackett/Marrone.

Doesn't change my stance on Mixon. He's a good pick at #35 if free agency helps our secondary.

He's an absolute steal if he's there in the third - but he won't be IMO.
