Yeah it would make it better. Smith would be millions of dollars richer, had a chance to prove himself in the NFL before a near career ending injury, and regardless of the prognosis he would have forever had the designation of a top ten pick. Not even to mention the sponsorship deals he would have picked up as well.

Here's your biggest problem. Bowl games mean absolutely nothing. Quick... who won the Meineke Car Care Bowl? No one cares. Unless you are in the college football playoff, your bowl game means nothing. Yea its a chance to play one more game with your friends but athletes are smarter now and they understand in the grand scheme of things, it means nothing.

 

I'm sure that if LSU had been in the playoff, Fournette would have played. Same with McCaffery. If the Jags select Fournette and they make the playoffs, you can be assured Fournette will play.

I think you are confusing people "being mad" with people thinking you simply don't get it. 

Technically I no longer live in ct.  But I was seeing if he answer.  And I just read it.  Back on april 1st and first question.  That was cool.  I can see what John was saying.  I still don't agree with it.

 

 But only because I was on a team and big games are important to the team. I don't see it as a show per say.  College fans have the same right to watch players they love preform in big games as Nfl do.  

 

I understand what he did.  But I don't agree with it.  Maybe cause I am a man of principle and not money.  To me that is still finishing the contract out.  And being with the team.   But If we do draft Fournette like every player.  I will wish him well and success.   Just like I hope Bortles turns it around.  

 

Fournette was impressive in his interview and willing to give the benefit of the doubt.  However, There are better options at four.  And still is just a big guy with not much else. And we need to find a fullback with great blocking ability and vision like he had at LSU.  For Fournette to be effective.  

 

If we draft him.  If we don't.  I do not care how his career goes.   Cause he is not a Jag.  And I don't have time to watch other teams players.

That's just it. I remember Del Rio talking about how there's a business side to the NFL and a football side to the NFL.


 

This was a business decision, and it shouldn't reflect at all on who he is as a football player.
