I have noticed the 'Sideline' skewing a bit serious lately and thought I'd put in a mindless topic to follow.


I'd pick T2-Judgement Day. I watched it recently and couldn't believe how good it was, even today. What action flicks from 80s / 90s do you like?

Predator is definitely up there. Probably one of the ultimate man movies.

Action movies were great in the 80s/90s, much better than what are offered these days, with few exceptions, at least imho.

 

I think it's mostly because the 80s/90s action stars were so much better then those considered action stars today, once again, with few exceptions.

Never really been a huge fan of action movies.  But I'd have to go with The Matrix for this one.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke. 

True Lies and Lethal Weapon are go to movies for mindless entertainment.  Die Hard is up there as well.

Predator - Just really cool gear in that movie. I mean, a triple laser sight? And a minigun?!?!?! How great is that?!?!

 

Die Hard - The beginning of the "every man" action movie. Still looks great.

 

T2 Judgement Day - What's better than one Terminator? Two! Now have 'em fight each other!

 

Conan the Barbarian - "He did not care anymore!" Man, what a great movie this is.

 

Big Trouble in Little China - It was a great lark at action movies seeing as how the "hero" was more talk than action. Good time had by all.

 

Empire Strikes Back - Still my favorite Star Wars movie. Just coulda put in a little bit of Leia in the bikini though.
