Injuries occur and these guys have to work out and lift weights so it's just an unavoidable situation. The thing I don't get is why the incoming rookies get worked to death between the Senior Bowl, Combine, Pro Days and private workouts. No wonder Fowler blew his ACL - the guy had been moving and cutting on his knees for months.
Injuries in football have always been the most unfortunate thing in the sport. The NBA and NCAA have bad officiating. College football is top heavy. Baseball has boredom. Soccer has little to no scoring. Every sport has their downside.

Quote:Lifting weights is unavoidable unless you want to be weak and even more susceptible to injury. yeah but the higher drafted rookies shouldnt lift weights until the playoffs
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:yeah but the higher drafted rookies shouldnt lift weights until the playoffs You are joking, right? Quote:yeah but the higher drafted rookies shouldnt lift weights until the playoffs And even then, only if they're in year 3 or later of their contract. Otherwise, no practice. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

So what pick do we draw the line at? 3....4...? ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:So what pick do we draw the line at? 3....4...?There is no line. As I learned in the debate after our 1st rounder was injured in non-contact drills, the only players who should be practicing or working out are those who were either un-drafted, or invited in to audition for the team. Draft picks should be encased in glass and swathed in bubble wrap. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:So what pick do we draw the line at? 3....4...? tony khan is probably working on an algorithm right now that can properly determine what pick is no longer worth keeping safe.

Given how some coaches ran camps in the past (and the fact "old school" players weren't in shape year round,) it's hard to believe no one died.
"You do your own thing in your own time. You should be proud."

Tough but unavoidable break for the Giants.
On the other side of the coin, Ereck Flowers could prove to be the long term answer at LT. The question is how much growing pains will he have in the short term? "Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."

They addressed that at the time. The Jags had the proper protocol to deal with heat stroke. Mike Ryan, the trainer at the time, was part of the group that actually wrote the current protocol used by the entire NFL in dealing with both preventing and treating heat related illness.
