He ran a 4.9 at his pro day. Ouch.

Do not know much about Neal Sterling, but I hope the best for him. He's a camp body for now. Love seeing guys from a small football program, getting a shot in the NFL.

He ran a 4.63 at his pro day. For a move tight end/H-Back prospect, that's not too shabby.

Just to increase perspective on what a fine TE prospect Sterling is.  Those measurables at TE are just scary.

Thank you for the insight. Those numbers do compare very favorably.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

Sterling as a big slot would be nice too. Anquan Boldin was a nice, big slot WR for many years. Some say the key for him was his strength and how he used that against defenders.

Jaguars signed seventh-round WR Neal Sterling to a four-year contract.
Sterling set records at Monmouth, but he displayed below-average athleticism and speed at his Pro Day. He's likely a long shot to make the 53-man roster, but could have some value as an H-back-type who plays multiple spots. May 13 - 12:25 PM

I think a lot of people are sleeping on Neal Sterling. Granted it was only rookie camp, but he looked very impressive and smooth.

He has the feel of a sleeper for sure. Someone Gene would have drafted in the third round.

Interesting prospect.  If he can be coached up and find a role - it's fun to imagine a red-zone package that includes M.Lewis, J. Thomas, A. Robinson and Sterling.  Someone will have a height mismatch with their defender for sure.

All I've read about him shouts sleeper potential. But if he can be so good how did another TE desperate team not gamble on this guy in the 5th or 6th round? The TE prospects this year was not a very strong group. You'd think some would be overdrafted.

I like the looks of this guy.  Playmaker potential to be sure.  Hope he can make it through camp without getting hurt.

haha. physically sounds like he has everything you want in a move TE. lets see if he has the skill.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
