"01/28/15 - College Gridiron Showcase Tuesday practice: The most impressive player on either roster on Tuesday was Monmouth WR Neal Sterling, who is well-built (6-3, 239) and although he lacks ideal speed, his routes were controlled with no wasted movement, allowing him to gain a step on defensive backs. Sterling showed some lower body burst to plant-and-go in his breaks with strong hands to be a reliable finisher at the catch point, boasting a large catching radius with his 33-inch arms. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com "

TE project. I like it. Clay Harbor...you're on notice too.

He's on the Julius Thomas track now.

That's kind of how I feel about him. I think he's the most likely of all our picks to need a year on the practice squad, but if his skills translate to tight end, keep an eye open for him to be a big-time contributor opposite Thomas in a year or two. 6'3" 240-lb. guys that run a 4.6 have the right build to be good H-backs/tight ends.

This would have been our 2nd round pick if Gene was still GM.

Rotoworld thinks he has no future as an NFL WR but maybe as a HB

Well, duh. Walterfootball, on the other hand, doesn't think he has a future as a TE or WR. Apparently he's not up on the H-back concept. I think with a few more pounds of muscle, he could be a Julius type of TE.

Sounds like we were far from the only one interested in Neal:

<p style="margin-left:40px;">

<p style="margin-left:40px;">Just past 5 p.m., his phone rang again, this time with Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley on the other end. The third-year head coach was not calling Sterling to map out his undrafted free agency status.

<p style="margin-left:40px;">

<p style="margin-left:40px;">"When I picked up the phone, I thought it was just another one of those teams showing interest," Sterling said. "It was Coach (Gus Bradley) telling me, 'Your new home is in Jacksonville.' I was covered with excitement. I immediately ran downstairs and yelled with my parents. I was just so excited. To end up getting drafted and being on a team, I can't even explain it."

<p style="margin-left:40px;">

Nice.
