2015 Line
|
First snap of 2015 and the line is Joekel/Cann/Wiz/Linder/Parnell?
On paper it seems pretty nasty if Joekel can up his play. Thoughts? “Motivation alone is not enough. If you have an idiot and you motivate him,now you have a motivated idiot.” Jim Rohn We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Wonder how many lineman they carry?
Joeckel, Beadles, Wisnieski, Linder, Parnell, Cann, Bowanko, Pasztor, Williams, Shatley, Wells, and Booth is a crowded line. The overall play should be exponentially better.

I don't see Cann starting this year - 2016 instead. They keep Zane around 1 more year...

I'm going to make a prediction here:
The Jaguars OL is going to go from a weakness in 2014, to a strength in 2015. In turn, we will see an increase in offensive productivity, progress from Bortles and more wins. It may not be a strength from the start of 2015 but it will be as the season goes on and they play together.
Quote:I'm going to make a prediction here:God I hope so,,, because weakness last year may be an understatement,,, I think you are correct though,,, and let's not forget what maybe the most important addition of all to the o line.... A new coach, I think marrone is going to make a huge difference. One thing is for sure,, it will be a complete makeover up front on offense,, and surely it can't get any worse than last year?!? I really hope the line is improved. Its been the biggest problem with the offense for 15 years. Our best years in the last 15 years were coincidently when our line played its best... And it could only run block then.
4 guys competing for 2 spots... seems like a fairly close competition to me. I would give the edge to the vets (beadles, wis) in year 1.

I don't know why everyone is thinking a rookie is going to take Beadles spot. He did play poorly but the line was built of rookies, backups, and players coming off injury. Beadles will get this year and possibly be gone next year due to cap space unless he plays great this year. I also think paztor may get the cut after training camp. My only worry about next years line is that there could be a period of poor play until the gel.
Caldwell did exactly what I expected was needed to improve the offensive line. Add more depth at the 3 interior positions, and add some veteran presence. I don't know much about Cann, but he's versatile and can play all 3 interior position. Zane was ok last season, but the young rook can push him for his job. We should get another LT to push Joeckel too
