Who's your second round pick!
|
I know many may be looking for a running back but I think my choice would be Randy Gregory! he might be the best value and would complete the edge rushers for the defense. My reason for picking another pass rusher is we have to pressure Luck to beat the colts. We also will be dealing with Mariota. If we don't go Randy then I would pick one of the following receivers, Dorial Green Becham or Jaelen Strong.
2nd round Randy Gregory Beckham or Strong We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Gregory has admitted he is an addict, so no way on that pick. DGB hasn't played in, what, 2 years? How about:
1. Duke Johnson 2. Eric Kendricks 3. One of the receivers? 4. Eric Rowe
I cursed at the Colts when they took Phillip Dorsett, as I highly desired him for the Jag's 2nd pick. There are some nice players on the board, and a couple really good ones if you can stomach the risk.
If playing it on the safe side, I am leaning towards RB Tevin Coleman, WR Jaelen Strong, or DT Eddie Goldman. If I give in to my danger side, two guys intrigue me, LB Randy Gregory and WR Dorial Green-Beckham.
Duke Johnson or a WR, either way we need additional weapons to assist Bortles.

There are a ton of guys left. Mine would be Strong, Jaleen Collins, Goldmen, even McKinney. There is a ton of value at this second pick. I almost want to trade back and pick up another third rounder because some of these guys will be available there too.
Why do people like duke so much? Coleman, Ajayi, Abdullah and maybe the Johnson guy all are better than Duke
Jaelen Strong or Ajayi

I saw Duke Johnson break lots of tackles in the little bit of Youtube cut ups I watched of him. He's small, but I liked his highlight reel better than Melvin Gordon's who quite frankly was running through wide open holes his o-line created for him. I'm not here to proclaim him better than Gordon, but I did like what I saw. I'd really like to get Johnson in the 3rd but he may not last that long.

Some of you people are borderline delusional. Here's some common sense for you: A high 2nd round pick should be playing day one, either starting or in rotation. For us, that leaves: RB, OTTO and FS. I don't see an Otto or safety with good value at 36, and RB only has value there if you view him as a every down back. If we decide we're still going RB by commitee then we can hold off on that until the third. I think we wanted an elite receiver, not just any receiver, so I don't see that being addressed today. If we are playing alot of 2 TE, we may need to groom someone behind Mercedes. Same goes with Poz, but I don't think any MLB out there are high enough caliber to take his place, even with grooming, especially at 36. I'd take a RB here. Although, in recent year players have fallen to us in the 2nd. So DT and OL are possible if they really covet a player.
Also, it was pointed out on the radio the other day that it doesn't really help us to get MORE young players, but better ones. If every year you draft 10 players, you're not giving any of them a chance to actually develop, you're just turning them over.
Posted this on other forum, it applies here. Want no part of Gregory.
So many directions to go here. RB: Duke, Coleman, Ajayi, Abdullah - wouldn't be upset with any of these guys, but would prefer to find a back with the 3rd pick or a trade back here WR: Strong, DGB, Lockett, Smith - kinda feel the same way here that I do with backs since it's such a deep class. Like Strong and Smith (speeeeed) the most here. Undecided on DGB if they did roll the dice with him OL: Clemmings, Fisher - insurance for Joeckel, but it seems too early for that and could address that need next year if he struggles again LB: Kendricks - not a big fan of Perryman since he can't defend the pass at all. Best cover LB in draft DB: Quentin Rollins: sleeper here. Pretty deep at corner but he is a physical corner Gus loves and is still learning the game since he was a basketball player. Some think he could play safety as well. Or maybe move Colvin there?
