***Official 2015 NFL Draft Thread***
|
Hi Jaguars fans! Are you ready for the biggest NFL offseason event of the year?
The long wait is almost over for 256 players to start new beginnings and realize their dreams. For the first time in 51 years, Chicago is hosting the NFL Draft, which will take place at Roosevelt University's Auditorium Theatre after being moved from Radio City Music Hall in New York. To commemorate the 50th year of ending a season with the Super Bowl, the NFL made its shield and draft logos gold, among other things. This is the schedule (all times Eastern): Thursday, April 30 Round 1 only, 7:00-10:30* Each team has 10 minutes to make a pick. Friday, May 1 Rounds 2 and 3; 6:00-9:30* Each team has 8 minutes to make a pick. Saturday, May 2 Rounds 4-7; 11:00-6:30* Each team has 5 minutes to make a pick. *Draft coverage times on NFL Network. Actual times the pick clock runs are different. ESPN may have a slightly different schedule. You can set a reminder to watch the draft on NFL Network here: http://on.nflnetwork.com/draft-scheduleu...5_calendar Here is the complete draft order and tracker for all 7 rounds: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/tracker#dt...t-by-round The Jaguars currently have 7 picks, all at their default position - third in rounds 1, 3, 5, and 7 and fourth in rounds 2, 4, and 6 (alternating with the Raiders). They are: Round 1: 3 Round 2: 36 Round 3: 67 Round 4: 103 Round 5: 139 Round 6: 180 Round 7: 220 For the fifth straight year, NFL legends will announce second round picks. For Jacksonville, that man is fullback Greg Jones. Also, one of our picks will be called in London for the first time in NFL history. Let's all hope the Jaguars pick the right guys at the right times and the Titans, Texans, and Colts do not. The intent of this thread is to report and discuss each pick and during-draft trade for all 32 teams. Think of it as a draft version of official game day threads. Now let the draft parties begin! I dont like this thread. It doesn't look official enough.

You got the wrong times.
Thursday: 8:00 PM ET Friday: 7:00 PM ET Saturday: 12:00 PM ET
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

At #3, I'm hoping for best available long snapper. Gotta compliment that 3rd round punter from a few years back.
Quote:You got the wrong times. You missed the astericks. I noted that is NFL Network coverage time, not when the pick clock is running.

I'm trying really hard to like Fowler Jr, because I have a feeling he'll be the pick. Been watching highlight reels, reading analysis, even having a drink to loosen my thoughts. I just don't think you can pass on Williams if he's there at 3. Hopefully Caldwell has him tagged as "his guy". Maybe I'm to hung up on thinking Williams will be the perennial pro bowler and everyone else will be good, but not great. I really like Cooper, Gurley and White though.ESPECIALLY with the chatter of potentially getting Gregory or Ray late 1, early 2.
Who gets to call the pick in London for us?
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

It seems like more and more people are projecting Fowler as our pick, but I have been away from the board recently so i am not up to date on it. My thought on it is this: Fowler would fill a hole because we lost J.T. Thomas to free agency and he was our Otto, so if the pick is based on need, he should be our selection. But if we go BAP on this one, it will be Williams. Quote:Already been up an hour... just another 17 hours to go... LOL You aren't the only one who can't wait. I went to bed wearing my Jaguars socks and have not slept yet.

Quote:Only 3 stars, hmm I might have to keep my options open. It's supposed to be only three astericks on each side. Adding a fourth would censor them. Anyway, now it is April 30 everywhere and we can all just count down the hours until 8:00 ET.

Fowler will be a great SAM or LE in the NFL if he's a Jaguar I wouldn't be upset but I think DL Leonard Williams is the better talent between the two especially since you can put him anywhere on the line and he'll be feirce he is the closest to J.J. Watt style of play which is why they feel Cleveland will trade up with the titans to get him for their front 30, especially since they were so bad at the run last season. The trade rumours appear to be false but its hard to tell the truth right before the draft many things are said. The way I figure it Bucs draft QB Winston, Titans either draft or trade with a team that drafts DL Williams, and with so many players being desired (Mariota, Cooper, Fowler) I think the Jaguars trade down for the 3 first round picks (really 2 since they draft that round, and a 2nd round pick) and they draft a replacement for the failure LT Luke for Andrus Peat whom has been compared to former famous LT Jim Lachey.
