Downtown Development group gives Khan's Shipyards plan highest grade

Another hurdle cleared.  We might actually see development begin sooner rather than later.

I don't know man, I was kind of looking forward to a drunk redneck trying to build an ark on a budget of $15 and a 24 pack of Bud Light.

This is truly exciting. As someone who moved away for work and with few if any prospects in me field back home I can't wait to see what happens here. Selfish I know but I would love nothing more than to move back home and be able to continue my career and development of a city center this would lead to is exactly what I would need.

Sounded like a Hail Mary from First Baptist Church to me.

It sounded like another drunk redneck to me. The volleyball court was icing on the cake.

If you didn't see the interview with this guy, you missed a real treat. Watched an interview on Channel 4 a few weeks ago and all I could say was, "Wow".

Let's be politically correct and say the guy is a tad 'eccentric'.

Maybe Khan paid them to put these other proposals out there to make his more attractive.  Evil genius.

Yeah, I saw the interview done on FCN.  The guy was wearing a Hawaiian shirt as he stood in front of his trailer showing the hand drawn proposal on a piece of notebook paper.  He felt providing a place of prayer was better for the city than what Khan had proposed.  Oh, and there would be volleyball, so there's that.

Here's the video.

I found the Channel 4 video.  The reaction of his neighbors in the mobile home park was worth the price of admission.

Yep. The whole piece was classic. Seemed almost like a Saturday Night Live Weekend Update skit.

All things considered, I think the ark dude won a moral victory.

Agree.  He met the minimum requirements, therefore his proposal was accepted.
