Final Mock Draft 7 rd
|

Rd1 Pick 3: Dante Folwer Jr LEO/OTTO
Don't make the mistake of comparing Fowler to Harvey. Fowler was a consistent threat
and a key role to UF's defensive success. He kept getting better and made Winston look
like a nervous wreck, having his worst game of his career. He has elite quickness and speed for
a lb/leo and the strength and hands to beat the tackles any way.

Rd2 Pick 4: Jay Ajayi
We get the last piece to our offense, our future running back. Ajayi is a big fast physical back who has insane hands for the position. He ran a 40 time at a 4.57 and was a beast in the red zone in `14 with 28 yes 28 touchdowns rushing.

Rd3 Pick 3: Demarious Randall FS
A fast physical free safety with a nack for playmaking. A raw talent but with his traits could turn into a star for Bradley's defense. A competitor for Sergio Brown and a physical monster as a coverage safety.

Rd4 Pick 4: Justin Hardy WR (Trade Cleveland)
Physical, aggressive, and consistent, Hardy would be what Cecil was supposed to be a great blocker with trustworthy hands who has a skill for getting first downs much like Allen Rob. Would fill our slot role and give BB5 another weapon to rip it to. Just a good football player. Every catch he makes he is 10 ft in the air catching it 1 handed.

Rd5 Pick 3: PJ Williams
A shock to some, others maybe not. He said he'd shock the world at the combine but put up rather average 40 times. Was rated as a 2-3rd round prospect but with recent DUI issues he like Televin could end up falling to the same exact pick Telvin did last year.

Rd6 Pick 4: Robert Myers G/T
A superb technician of the game but lacks speed and strength to be a higher prospect. Sit a couple of years and hit the weight room and he could be another of Caldwell's diamonds in the rough.

Rd7 Pick 3: Shane Carden QB
Watching this guy in the UF-ECU game I really like this kid. He has many of the technical issues Bortles has/ had being an arm thrower and not properly using his legs but has the intangibles and understanding to work and progress with Bortles. He lacks the physical tools and running ability but many of the things said are the same as Brady when he was picked in the 6th round.

We show less advertisements to registered users. First two rounds are reasonable. Randall being there in the 3rd, even at the top of the round, is likely wishful thinking. I don't know enough about the players beyond that to guess what rounds they would be available in.
Quote: id be ok with this draft if we got smelter in place of hardy. one thing i can say about this draft is there are a ton of options that i couldnt even be mad about unlike the past few drafts. always hope the players pan out, but there are a lot more i like that i think we can get this year.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I like it although I'd prefer Williams/Beasley/Cooper over Fowler...I still would walk away happy if the draft fell this way.
I don't think Williams starts is the problem, Marks is a probowler, just signed Odrick, and Williams is to slow to be a LEO. I also like White over cooper, cooper never makes those wow catches and is never seen going up to get the ball like White. I like Beasley but I think Fowler is overall the better player but is not as good of a pass rusher as Vic at the moment but that could change quickley with Gus. Fowler is also a Gus persona fun loving guy.
Love it outside of the QB

If he's there and you pass on Williams, the Jags will never live it down. And then I'd prefer Beasley over Fowler. Might have to flop 2nd and 3rd rd pick placement. Love the PJ Williams pick.

I have noticed virtually no one on here is worried or believes how much Ajayi is being knocked down for his knee injury according to all of the insiders. I would be pretty shocked with him at 36.
Quote:I have noticed virtually no one on here is worried or believes how much Ajayi is being knocked down for his knee injury according to all of the insiders. I would be pretty shocked with him at 36. I think the knee injury is being overblown for good reason. He played 3 years at a high level on it and one week leading up to the draft it could be a "career ending injury". Sounds like a lot of smoke to me.

I would be pretty shocked with him at 36. id be shocked to see you have any credibility or knowledge outside of what something with a hash tag tells you. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...abricated/ "On Monday, CBS Sports reported that concerns emerged regarding the knee of Boise State running back Jay Ajayi at the Scouting Combine medical re-check in Indianapolis. The only problem? Ajayi wasn’t there. Agent Erik Burkhardt said on Twitter than Ajayi didn’t attend, and wasn’t asked to attend, the medical re-check. Which implies strongly that there were no concerns about Ajayi’s knee at the original Scouting Combine in February."

I guess a lot of people would rather trust Ajayi's agent and Mike Florio... "If those reports originate from team visits, keep in mind that very few teams engage in extensive medical examinations during those sessions. Besides, Ajayi checked out at the Scouting Combine, where the poking and prodding nearly rises to the level of the nuances of an alien abduction."

If there were concerns about his knee from multiple teams then they would have made sure to request him to join them at the re-check.

I like Ajayi but would prefer Tevin Coleman in round 2. His big play ability is right up there with Gurley. An average TD distance of 40 yards? Insane. And his YPC, as great as it was, increased from 7 to over 8 yards in the 2nd half. I do agree he isn't the best short yardage back.

That's what we have Toby and Pierce for. I agree with your other points.

0% chance PJ Williams falls to the 5th. Especially since his DUI case just got dropped
As I haven't done a 7 round pick projection in ages, and as the draft is a few days away, I'll take a swing...
1. DL Leonard "Big Cat" Williams 6'5 302- highest rated non-QB in the draft. Position and scheme diverse. Future consistent pro bowler. 2. WR Phillip Dorsett 5'10 182- elite sub 4.3 speed, absolute mismatch for NBs and safeties, potential star from the slot. 3. RB Ameer Abdullah 5'9 205- incredible character and some analysts think within top 3-4 RBs in the draft. 4. S Jaquiski Tartt 6'1 218- small school player with good skills, developmental upside and STer. 5. HB/FB Nick O'Leary 6'3 238- good pass protector, reliable hands, competitor, becomes FB/H-back for Jags. 6. DB Nick Marshall 6'1 220- conversion prospect from QB to CB or FS, worth a late round gamble. 7. WR DeAndre Smelter 6'2 226- big physical athlete, coming off torn ACL that makes 2015 questionable. |
