Jags always have those weeks when Everbank has to be upgraded in seats to handle FL-GA..  Team loses some of the enhanced areas in the NEZ as a result..  So always an extended road /bye/London during that time..  When you start your season with 2 home games, that's the price you pay having only 5 more games in Jax the rest of the season.  Almost half of the season ticket package is used by week 2 (including preseason)..

If this is truly a make or break year for this staff, it just got a lot harder.

The Rams volunteered to play games in London

But the Rams never had two three game road trips in 8 games as a result.

Neither did the Vikings, who also agreed to play in London...

Neither did the Raiders...

Seriously....we play 7 home games.  Big ***** deal that we are away from Jacksonville a lot in the middle of the season.  We're home a good amount at the beginning and the end.  It's professional sports.  Deal with it.  It's not like we have to play in Baltimore and New England back to back in late December when the weather would be a factor.

One of these years.............

Baltimore and New England on the road back to back in December, as a part of a balanced schedule overall, would be preferable to the schedule we have now.

It isn't as if we don't have tough back to back road games in December with our current schedule.

Either way we will be at the stadium for 7 games. For me personally it doesn't really matter which 7 weeks of the 17 week season that I travel ten minutes to get to the stadium.

I get the argument of people who say it doesn't matter.

I hope that the team is good enough this year that no matter where a game is played, the Jaguars are good enough to win by a couple of TDs minimum.

But there is a reason oddsmakers say that homefield advantage in the NFL is worth about 3 points.  It's generally tougher to win on the road than at home.

Having all of those road trips concentrated in the early to middle part of the schedule will make things very difficult for this team.

Hoefully it will make the team stronger in the process, but until these guys realize their potential, I'd prefer not to make things unnecessarily tough for this team.

slightly changing topics here but I've thought for awhile that it would be cool if they would make the last 6 games all division games.  for awhile they had the last 2 games as divisional but that isnt the case this year.  in fact 2 of our last 3 games are against NFC teams... which are the games with the least impact on playoff positioning, tiebreakers, etc...

I think there would be a lot of benefits to saving the division opponents for the last 6.  for starters, more teams would be alive for the playoffs later into the season.  division races could swing wildly from week to week.  it would strengthen(or in some cases create) rivalries.  it would reward teams who are playing their best later in the season.  I think it would definitely enhance the NFL schedule.
