WR Tyrell Williams ( Western Oregon )
|
Prior to the Pre-Draft visit with the Lions earlier today, I was unaware of Tyrell Williams as an NFL Prospect. In the video that's provided in the article link below, Williams looks like a man against boys against Division II competition. At 6-3" / 204, Williams has the size to compliment his impressive athletic skills that were evident in his Pro Day.
http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/201...ivisi.html If Tyrell Williams displays the mental components that are necessary to make the huge transition up to the NFL, how high of a pick would you want the Jaguars to use on him if you believe that he's worth drafting? Never heard of him, and just looked at a bunch of stuff on him. After the workout, he is being compared, with further development in his WR skills, with names such as Randy Moss and Alvin Harper. A vertical threat with good hands, leaping ability and the capability to take a screen to the house. Only negatives mentioned and found are his lower level of competition and raw route running skills. The one scout opinion that I read was that he likely moved himself into the 5th round area, from being a free agent prior to his pro day. Interesting guy....
