You really can't say any of this is a 'smokescreen' for any team. Planning for contingencies is more like it. Nobody knows what they plan to do but they need to be prepared for all rounds or if they trade down.

Not really a smoke screen, teams get 30 visits, you use it on guys you consider good players. Yeldon is a 3rd round possibility and Collins is a trade back possibility

I think it is. Go back and look at how many players we drafted last year who were in for visits.

 

We picked two of them.  All but a few of them went before we picked again in the 2nd round after taking Bortles in the 1st.  They were doing their homework on other 1st rounders if they didn't get Bortles.  Most of the other players we drafted didn't need to be interviewed because we had them at the Senior Bowl.

I think there is some element of smokescreen, but I don't think they are bringing in players that they have no interest in at all.  Obviously, they aren't going to announce their preference in running back and where they would like to draft him at.  I think it's more of, "Hey, we want to take a closer look at this guy and if it leaves other teams guessing who we prefer, awesome."
