Where do you see the QB's being drafted and in what round?

#1

There has been a lot of speculation as to where the QB's in this draft will be taken and how high they will go. Where do you think they will be drafted and in what round. Here is my guesses.

First Round

San Francisco- Mitch Trubisky

New York Jets- DeShaun Watson

Cleveland- Pat Mahomes

Second Round

Chicago- DeShone Kizer

Third Round

Arizona- Davis Webb

Fourth Round

Houston- Nathan Peterman

Pittsburgh- Brad Kaaya

Fifth Round

Buffalo- Jerod Evans

Baltimore- Josh Dobbs

Sixth Round

Cincinnati- C.J. Beathard

New York Giants- Cooper Rush

Seventh Round

Chicago- Brady Gustafson

L.A. Chargers- Alek Torgerson

Seattle- Chad Kelly

Kansas City- Antonio Pipkin

I think we will add one via free agency. On top of that, I think most of the QB's we target in the draft will be taken ahead of where we have them slotted.

I think Kizer goes in the first. Maybe early, but at least at the back end. Someone will trade up to snag him if he is still sitting there in the 20s.

I was going to add a "where are the Jags?" line but people covered this already.

It could be one of several guys. I know this is not what people wanna hear, but I believe the candidates will be........

Matt Cassel

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Mark Sanchez

Shaun Hill

Kellen Clemens

Ryan Mallett

or perhaps Jay Cutler, (if he is cut by the Bears)

I think we're looking for someone to push Bortles in 2017. I don't think we're going to be in the market for a long term replacement, until we are sure he is unfixable.

The only consensus opinion about quarterbacks in this draft is none of them are can't miss prospects. As usual, there is talk about teams reaching for need at the position - but this time, there are doubts any team will do it with a top 10 pick. I don't want to make any judgments or guesses until after all team pro days are over.

No thanks to any of those guys, I would like Brian Hoyer he is the only guy I feel could come in and help us win games if Bortles is injuried or bench.

Other wise draft a guy or go with Brandon Allen

Agreed. of pending FA QBs.. Hoyer seems to fit the bill of a veteran than can "push" Bortles.

And by "push" I mean when/if the coach staff has to pull Bortles because of poor play and Hoyer can have some respectable games and keep ya around .500 so the fans don't riot.

Also... if Allen shines at all during TC he'll be an option as well.

If nothing goes right this year, you're likely in position to get a top QB in the next draft OR perhaps if we're just a "QB away" there'll be a FA worth taking a shot on with a big contract (I would never go this route, rarely do FA QBs turn things around for a franchise)

Why? We drafted one last year. Free agency is an option. My signature says it all.

That means nothing in 2017.

Sure it does.

It means that coaches often speak in "half-truths" to the media regarding personnel decisions - because they don't want to undermine the confidence and trust of their players.

It's a common policy for most GMs and coaches around the league.

Coaches and front offices rarely tell the truth in situations like this. Dave Caldwell and co. talked and hyped up Gabbert ......before trading him away for a 6th round pick.

It means nothing if you are comparing someone who was pronounced the starter by his head coach shortly before being cut with someone who was pronounced the starter by a new front office staff member.

Have you ever heard of comparing apples and apples?

There are lots of similarities between the two situations whether you are able to understand them or not.

Marrone or Caldwell saying "Blake is our QB" in February doesn't mean they won't change their tune in the coming months if they find a way to acquire a perceived upgrade to Blake Bortles. Much in the same way that the former regime moved on from Blake Blaine Gabbert when they thought they'd achieve better results with a different guy behind center.

I assume you mean Blaine, not Blake.
