Poz replacement ?

A lot of us are assuming we'll draft someone like Perryman, McKinney or Dawson as a replacement for Poz. The view seems to be that he's not good enough.

But, I'm not sure Gus and Dave feel the same way. And then I read this article

<a class="bbc_url" href='http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpost?blogname=jacksonville-jaguars&id=11943&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22http%3A%2F%2Fm.bleacherreport.com%2Fjacksonville-jaguars%22%7D'>http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpost?blogname=jacksonville-jaguars&id=11943&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22http%3A%2F%2Fm.bleacherreport.com%2Fjacksonville-jaguars%22%7D</a>

And I think he's right. I've not read or heard anything from the coaching staff or management to suggest they're unhappy with him.

Maybe we won't be drafting a LB to replace him after all ?

Or is there someone in the draft this year who is so good, we can't miss him ? (I'm not sure there is)

I hope he's staying, I had a choice of three jerseys last week when the Nike UK store had a half price sale. Poz, Blackmon or Shorts. Ended up getting Poz because I already have a Blackmon jersey and Shorts is gone.

Poz is getting older and injuries are starting to emerge.  If there's a chance to draft an eventual successor (without having to chase one,) I'm sure they'll take him.

I could see us running with him this year and MLB being our top priority next year.

It's kind of like what they did with LEO last year.

Didn't reach for one, but took a flier on a guy later.

I could see that especially with the lack of depth. But unless the flier way outperforms his draft position I think we take an mlb high next year. First or second round imo.

I still wanna see more of Jeremiah George, personally.

Stephone Anthony in the second would be the perfect replacement

I hope we go MLB this year rather than waiting to see what's there next year. Between Eric Kendricks, Benardrick McKinney, Denzel Perryman, Stephone Anthony, and even Ramik Wilson, their are some good options to consider.

I like him too. Think he will last until the 3rd rd?

I get the argument that we could do with a replacement for Poz, I just don't think our front office see it as a pressing need.

And that means we're unlikely to select one in the first two rounds. I think that rules out Kendricks, McKinney, Dawson, Perryman and possibly Anthony.

Can Telvin Smith play MLB?

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

No way, he might slip into the bottom of the first round some people are saying

Why would he

It's a pretty miserable drafts for ILBs this year. I'd take a flyer on a guy in the late rounds for depth, nothing more. But I think it's a position we definitely address next year in rounds one or two.

BORTLES ISN'T A FRANCHISE QB. FOURNETTE WILL BE A BUST.

Small and very slow. Kind of like a mini-Poz. Not what this defense needs.

He'd be snapped in two the first time a fullback hit him.

I don't think we draft a ILB in the first 4 rounds this year personally

We may select a developmental type guy later in the draft and if he develops cool, and if he doesn't oh well.

I don't believe there is any sense of urgency to replace Poz. If push comes to shove they will hit the FA market. The position isn't as critical as it once was. I don't see them throwing a high draft pick at the position at any point unless some abnormally talented player happens to be there when they pick.
