@RavensInsider: Bernard Pierce claimed by Jaguars, according to league source

Love it. Lots of potential. Hopefully won't force us to pick RB as early as so many people want/expect.

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">Bernard Pierce didn't have much impact in '13 and '14, but as a rookie in '12 he forced 25 missed tackles on 115 touches on offense

Watching Pierce last season makes me want to see another RB brought in. It's a decent pick up, but hes not starting RB material.
No commercial messages in sigs

Interesting. Seems like they won't go RB early now. Maybe someone like Mike Davis in round 5 or just no RB at all now.

Can't hurt to bring in more competition at RB. I like it.

I wouldn't say all that yet.

nice pick up. i have a friend who runs a pretty legit fantasy site and he was really high on pierce last offseason. it didnt come together for pierce last season but i think the potential is definitely still there.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

A mid-March waiver claim, especially for a guy released after a run-in with the law, isn't going to change the team's draft plans. It's worth mentioning that after a solid start to his career, Pierce has been absolutely awful the last couple of years. I think he'd be a better fit as a complementary back, like he was in 2012, than he would be as the lead guy, and there's definitely room for complementary backs of the power variety here.

Just put in my application for chauffeur. Blackmon and Bernie gonna need rides.

But, not bad pick up. See how he shakes out.

He's listed as a fullback, then I heard the team wanted to move Toby to FB?

Two bruisers.

I think the talk with Slowby was more along the lines of a move/H-back role than making him a true fullback. Pierce being listed at fullback makes it pretty clear that the days of Daimon Shelton/Greg Jones-style hammerhead blockers at the position are done in Jacksonville, with the more versatile back (like what they have in Seattle, surprise) being the new norm.

Good pickup. Played well as a back up.

Cool, but when will he be able to play?

Gives us insurance for RB depth if we don't end up getting a rookie RB.  I don't think he gets many snaps either way though.

Denard Robinson

Toby Gerhart

Bernard Pierce

Storm Johnson

Possible Rookie

Nice competition. I like that Pierce is on the final year of his rookie contract. He's going to HAVE to have a prove it type of season.

That doesn't mean this at all tbh.

Not bad depth. I always thought he was a decent spell for Rice when he was the bellcow. Also easy to cut if things dont work out in camp.

This pick up has nothing to do with the draft, he's not gonna start, he is prob gonna compete with Toby and Storm for the last 2 RB spots, behind D-Rob and a rookie

It looks like a 2 game suspension is a very realistic possibility:

Pierce is subject to a two-game ban for his DUI offense under the league’s new personal conduct policy.
