It's on the profootballtalk webpage for those interested.

 

I think Morgan is a pretty good player. He disrupts the QB pretty regularly, but he's not a good finisher. If Orakpo stays healthy, their pass rush just got a major boost.

 

So how does this impact their approach in the draft? I know Leonard Williams plays up front, but are they tempted at all to pass up on another DL and seriously pursue trading back?

they need to take Williams regardless. he's the best player available

Another option is they take Mariota.

I think these moves enable them all kinds of flexibility.

 

I think they go immediate impact, which to me means Williams.

 

The owner wants to win now.  Taking Mariota at 2 does not lend itself to winning now.  Sticking with Mettenberger, who is going into his second year and filling the defense is more conducive to winning now.
 

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

To me Orakpo is a monster and will come back furiously. But I think they draft Williams for insurance.

 

 

In the back of my mind tho, I feel they might draft Mariotta. They have a bit of a statue in the pocket right now.

It comes down to Mariota or Williams. By addressing their pass rush, there is no need to trade down now.

 

This means we either get Leonard or WE get to trade down which is ideal.

I hope they take Leonard Williams and throw him in that 2 gapping scheme. Already gonna be wasting Casey's talents on it.

Yea looks like Williams or Mariota

I dont think anybody is trading up for Mariota, I get the felling he is gonna have a slide on draft day, we can grab Fowler at 3

Think that will be the pick and it won't maximize his talents…hopefully a Mariota trade does happen for us now.

Meh...high ceiling but really low floor for that group too.  Casey should be fine but those other guys can be hit or miss.
