That's the biggest problem, no one believes them when they say they're going to spend it on infrastructure. Remember the shovel ready stimulus to fix America's bridges and roads?

That's the one thing about my area, they're building new bridges and fixing the roads....... Then again, I'm close to DC on a major artery and they keep it up pretty good

I don't know that answer. I know the gas tax as represented here is specifically for the highway system. 

 

Your distrust is not really the point though, infrastructure is in disrepair. Can't be a great nation if we can't travel anywhere or our cities get flooded from lack of funding for repairs/replacements

C'mon man! The answer is we already DID fund infrastructure repair. We spent a Trillion dollars on it, the politicians wasted it, and we still have busted [BAD WORD REMOVED] roads and bridges; so now they want more. BOHICA America, it's time for more "stimulus."

9B is going to be a toll road, the funds to pay for it will come out the pockets of those driving on it. 295 will be too.

They will not be toll roads. They are adding toll lanes but they are optional.

We have it here in virginia too.  It's kind of like the HOV lanes.  The lanes with tolls have less traffic and (are supposed to anyway) go faster.

Yes, it's like Fastpass, Sun Pass, EZPass, etc, but the deal here is that the tolls actually change based on the time of day. Using the lane at 5pm will cost $3.00 per mile vs $0.25 at 9pm.

I'm not sure.  I don't normally use major highways.  My wife and I both work less than a mile from home.  Our kids go to school maybe a little over a mile from home.  Our stores are all within 5 miles.  They've only recently put them in around here too, of course.  And we've not had a family trip since then.  I only say 'supposedly' because I don't know for certain.
