REALISTICALLY.....

#1

What has to happen for us to win a respectable amount of games next year?

To me....

It seems as if there are so many unknowns..

idk what to expect from next year...

new coaches...

supposedly more than a few FA starters on both sides of the ball..

so many young guys who's progression is paramount...including the most important position of all.

I've seen a lot of people forecast as many as 8 wins...

how can that be realistic?

The offensive line must play better...I believe that is the biggest obstacle we are facing

I'll have to agree with you.

I too believe that if we cut the sack total in half next year...Blake will make us proud

if the running game can get better, the passing game will open up...right now we have neither a run game or a pass game...If one of them open up the other one will too...If we can pass, the defense will be forced to stop stacking the box to stop the run and then that will open up the run game

We need to get better

I expect that new coaching, free agency and a good draft class will take us in that direction

Offensive line is the biggest thing. Caldwell saw that we needed a good vet at center and swung for the fences with Mack last year. He missed but I believe because of him being willing to do that it has put Jags in good light with agents for this year.  I think he reworks the line first.

Im hoping this new coaching staff will help with our young players. Add in a solid FA and another good draft we should see even more improvement. I hope.

hmmm. Great observation.

Center was the only position he perused hard wasn't it?

Serious in that someone like him would be a great addition and help in pushing this team forward

Center, many times is called the QB of the line. Making the protection calls etc.  I tink if we had Mack at center things would have been ALOT different with this line.  If you watch many times the line was caught off gaurd and looked confused. I think that came down somewhat to the protection calls made. Bowanko was good in his physical part of the job but he was a rookie and the mental part of the game is just as important.

When was the last time we averaged 20? I suspect that was the last time we were considered competitive

The O-line was/is the glaring issue. They played confused and lacked any type of power. They were getting blown off the ball by even the weakest defensive units. Man, they were so out of sync.
