I think he's a lock for the first round. He's the second best QB in this class for me.

He isnt getting talked about by media yet but i think hes going in the first for sure. Someone with an old QB(Pit/Ari/NO/KC) is gonna do it.

Quick release and easy looking big arm. Better potential than bortles coming out so don't be surprised if he isn't the first guy off the board when the dust settles

I'm not high enough on any QB in this draft to want them in the first 3 rounds. I just don't see any standout prospects at the position.

Mahomes is one of the most impressive QB's I've seen come out in some time, what impresses me is his arm talent, eye level, and movement within the pocket. He might have the strongest arm I've ever seen, but what makes him special is his accuracy, he has Aaron Rodgers like accuracy and Aaron Rodgers like upside. I think he makes a meteoric rise up draft boards throughout the process and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being a top 10 pick, and possible a top 5. This is type of developmental QB talent you don't mind spending a top 10 pick on, he's the anti Blake Bortles, you're not going to ask Mahomes to completely overhaul his mechanics etc..., if this guy is developed properly he's going to make some fan base very happy.

If Mahomes is available in the back half of the 1st round, the Jags would be wise to consider trading up to select a guy with his upside. We'd also get that 5th year option

Would be a good security blanket of bortles can't deliver...

I wonder what Coughlin stance on Bringing in another qb is?

I'd love to have him here but it's a huge long shot. As long as the Texans don't get him, I'm cool.

Best arm in the draft by far imo. As others have stated his intangibles (eye movement, pocket awarness, courage under pressure) are lightyears ahead of what bortles were coming out. Scans the field with ease and remains calm in muddy pockets.

Kid can throw from any angle and somehow get the ball there with spooky accuracy in the pocket or on the run.

If he falls anywhere near the back edge of round 1 i would be fine with a trade up to take him. IMO he could beat bortles straight up in a offseason position battle

I love Mahomes, but even if we did get him I wouldn't want him to start if Bortles falters early in the season. He is comfortably my top developmental QB in this draft, but emphasis on developmental. He shouldn't be starting more than a game or two very late in the season in a no pressure situation.

The one thing I'd say is bringing in him over any other draftable QB will be the biggest push bortles can get this year. It'll be like looking in a mirror

Sadly, I don't think we are so stacked with talent that we can afford to use a high draft pick on a developmental player.

1) Browns - Trubisky
2) 49ers - Watson
3) Bears - Mahomes
4) Jaguars - Garrett

That's not gonna happen.

I see.....

1. Browns- Garrett

2. San Francisco- Trubisky

3. Chicago- Allen

4. Jaguars- Fournette ?????

I have the Browns taking Kizer at #12 and the Bears taking De'Shaun Watson at #36.

Maybe a safety, but your mock is probably fairly realistic.

At this point, I have no idea who we draft. Personally, I don't see anyone worthy of the #4 overall pick.

Pat Mahomes' father was a talented MLB Pitcher who had major control issues.   Because of that,  accuracy is something I plan on paying close attention to when watching Pat Mahomes at the NFL level.

The top 3 on this mock seem right on target. If it does happen, I believe the Jaguars will attempt to trade down to a team wanting Kizer, Watson or Mahomes. There just isn't a player at this spot worth it if they could acquire extra picks. Adams, Fournette and Hooker certainly have pro bowl talent, but I'd rather drop down about 10-15 spots and get that extra 2nd rounder. This would enable them to get 3 of the top 36 players. With the upgrades the Jaguars need at running back, offensive line, tight end (if Thomas is let go), safety and pass rushing defensive linemen they could benefit greatly with this extra pick. I would throw in quarterback, but I don't seem them going in this direction so high in this draft. Who might they pick with these 3 picks? I'd be happy with several combinations, and would especially hope Feeney falls to pick 35 as he fills the team's most important need. If he's not there, they could still get Elflein with one of the 2nd rounders and Budda Baker (if Cyprien leaves) with the other. The 1st rounder could be Dalvin Cook, O.J. Howard, Cam Robinson, Barnette or maybe even Hooker would fall to that spot.
