Fascinating article on how bad things are in Cleveland
|
Jimmy Haslam might be the worst owner in professional sports, a lot of chaos in Cleveland right now. Enjoy the article

So there must also be some opportunities as well.
One might be a trade down for draft picks. Do you give up Pick 3 for Picks 12 and 19? Will the Browns be interested in Winston if he is the one QB available?
Quote:Just an absolute disaster It's unreal, they are light years away from competing due to the owner, I truly feel bad for Browns fans.
Quote:So there must also be some opportunities as well. I think they'd be interested in Winston or Mariota, however I think it's a foregone conclusion Tampa is selecting Jameis with the 1st overall pick, so Mariota would be the guy. The Jaguars are in a really good spot at pick 3, Tennessee will probably select Leonard Williams potentially creating a bidding war between Philadelphia and Cleveland, both have been rumored to be high on Mariota (Phily for obvious reasons), should be an entertaining draft. Man.
Uuuuuuuglllyyyyyy. Goes to show what poor leadership can do to any organization.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
Just think, if they played their cards just a liiiiittle bit differently, they could have two selections in each of the first three rounds this coming draft.

Quote:Interesting that they had Carr, TB, and Manziel ahead of Bortles. I don't buy that, they immediately traded back with Buffalo after Blake was selected, there was also a predraft rumor (by the Cleveland Plain Dealer) that reported the Browns had legit interest in Bortles. Not sure how credible it is, but I have a hard time believing they had Johnny Manziel ranked ahead of Blake. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Interesting that they had Carr, TB, and Manziel ahead of Bortles. Bortles was also the #1 rated QB on the Cowboys and Cardinals board for what it's worth.
And it keeps getting worse, per rotoworld:

Boy, life didn't imitate Draft Day, did it?

So in an article that is written to "take down" the Browns ownership, they lie about Bortles positioning in the draft board why, exactly? We show less advertisements to registered users. Well considering who they have running the front office they very well could have had Bortles as the 4th best QB. Doesn't mean that they are right in their rankings. I would take Bortles over Manziel all day.

Wow!!!!! What a scathing article.
Talk about a case of woulda, shoulda, coulda. The Browns are a HUGE mess right now, at least according to that article. How the heck did they start the season 7-4 and even lead the AFCN for a little while? Could they really have drafted Bridgewater and Odell Beckham Jr? Just WOW!!!!!!
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Source from the article talking about why the owner drafted Manziel:
Quote:The owner wanted to make a splash, add some pop to his franchise, sell some tickets and jerseys. "That was a business decision," said one source with direct knowledge of the situation.Sounds exactly like the reasoning people were clamoring for Tebow here. Sure glad we dodged the Tebow and Manziel bullet.

Is Cleveland really such a bad place, that it could possibly lose the Browns again? Anything's possible in Cleveland.
