Don't know yet what it was for. Here are my thoughts.
1. Feel bad for the kid. Praying that he gets his life turned around. 2. Last year at the end of the first round of the draft, the Browns had a superstar WR, a potential shutdown corner, and a QB who was set to take the league by storm. Now their receiver is out until further notice, the QB will probably miss a good portion of the off-season, and their corner has been cited by VETERANS on the team as having ethic issues. 3. Man am I glad we took Blake.

2015 NFL Draft - Analyzing Targets www.jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/topic/7892-2015-nfl-draft-analyzing-targets/
For what?
"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."
I think Manziel looked at Josh Gordon, and realized "If I don't clean my act up before I get caught doing something I shouldn't be doing, I'll be really screwed."
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

"And with the second pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select Marcus Mariota. The Titans will receive Cleveland's 12th and 19th pick of the first round, and future draft pick consideration". ...way to go Johnny Highball.
It's funny that the same people who are clowning Manziel in this thread are the same people who were championing Blackmon for doing this exact thing.
Just my .02.

Screw anyone else's guy. 2. There is a huge difference between a WR going into rehab and YOUR FREAKING QB going into rehab. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Actually back when we selected Blackmon, I wanted Michael Floyd. Mostly because I thought Blackmon wouldn't be available. But most people were saying Michael Floyd was an alcoholic. And when I pointed out Blackmon's record... people said it was nothing to worry about. I hope Blackmon comes out of it, but that's mostly because he's a Jag.

What I saw was Floyd, who had a long history of alcohol related issues, who almost got kicked off the team, and wound up staying in the Freshman dorm due to his alcohol related issue, and Blackmon, who had the one DUI coming from a Dallas Cowboys night game. I got it wrong...as I often do. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Good for Johnny if he's truly realized he has a problem. I wish Johnny the best and hope he gets the help he needs.

I'm curious to know if he's heading to rehab as some sort of preemptive maneuver? With the numerous incidents reported that had at least some implication of alcohol abuse, I have to wonder if he's heading to rehab because he's about to get dinged by the league? That's probably not the case, but guys like Manziel don't suddenly decide to go to rehab unless there's a gun to their head like facing a possible suspension. We'll never know if he's in the program as a result of some of his antics unless he's suspended, and that won't happen until incident #2.
Hopefully he has an opportunity to address whatever issues there are that have put him on this destructive path, and he's able to get his life back on track. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:For what?"Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate and he thought the off-season was the right time to take this step." From his publicist. Seems he is afflicted with Imatureity. He needs to seek help to show him how to actually be an adult and be a good son and a good friend and a good Teammate. Hey maybe someone should just give him a Snickers! :teehee:
He maybe taking a preemptive step after an incident. It is hard to say with these problems. I can't imagine living like these athletes. The alcohol is a coping tool because of the hits they take. JSmith said it well in the Thundering and Lightning football life, you walk around thinking why isn't everyone doing it. The gladiator lifestyle isn't equal to well adjusted living.

I'm no professional in this matter but deep down Johnny comes off as a good kid with an immaturity and entitlement problem. Both can be overcome if that's the case.
He seems like a kid that's always had the good life, lived easy and was able to party on. That's not going to work as an NFL QB.
