He's more likely to go into sports broadcasting. I'd rather have Freddie T anyway as a coach if we are talking about former running backs.

Is it going to be The Running Backs coach or A Running Backs coach? The reason I ask is because of the interest that Greg Jones has stated in getting back into coaching. Might they be looking to bring him on to the staff as a very low tier Assistant and see what he can do?

No. But remember there was a rumor last week that the Jaguars were hiring a new QB coach also. And they did not. Probably the same "source".

Do you get the impression that Gus is probably not that much different from any of us and when he interviewed all these coaches for the open OC position, he might have been thinking that he would love to get some of these guys as upgrades to his position coaches.

 

I think we all have a little of the "Sign em all" mentality.

I think we all have a little of the "Sign em all" mentality.

 

I'm sure that he was looking at targets for multiple positions during the interview process.  Marrone was assumed to be interviewing for the OC job when he initially met with the Jaguars, so it's possible some of these other guys Gus spoke with were being vetted for other spots on the staff as well.
