OT scoring rules

#1

They're trash. It's been discussed here before.

Both teams should get the ball on offense. The rules tailored to favor scoring so much that's not even fair for one team to not get possession.

Completely unfair what happened to GB in OT today.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

I would've liked to see the shootout continue. It's anticlimactic now

It's not unfair. Cover better if you don't want to lose.

I disagree your not in a ot shootout like hockey it's football it's a continuous of the tied score. If you don't want it to be over in OT stop the other team from scoring or win in regulation.

I am ok with the rules during regular season and even first round playoff games, but I would be in favor of at least allowing one possession per team in conference championship games to decide who goes to the Super Bowl and in the Super Bowl.

As he mentioned, the rules are slanted in the offense favor. Therefore if you get the ball first on a coin flip then you have a better chance to win before you even hike the ball.

They changed it years ago from first points win to if you get a fg other team gets a chance, nothing wrong with that in the playoffs your there cause your team is good so just stop the offence give your team a chance.

The college way is worse. I like having a normal fifth period - kickoff, punts, game clock, etc. You can't blame the NFL for Green Bay failing to stop Seattle in overtime.

The Packers are blaming themselves for not scoring touchdowns in the first quarter and the botched onside kick recovery, which would have ended the game in regulation.

I have no problem with the rules, packers threw the game.

The coin toss would not matter if Green Bay's defense stopped Seattle.
