Mike Brown signs deal with Carolina Panthers
|
He spent most of the year on the practice squad but has now signed a futures contract with Carolina.
I think he showed some promise early in his career but looked awful in preseason. Wishing him well anyway. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I enjoyed watching him in the previous season but this year I dont even remember seeing him play this year. I think he was just out classed by all the young talent. Hopefully he'll improve and stand out in Carolina.
A good man - to my eyes anyway - and a decent player who got caught on the wrong end of a numbers game.
Best of luck Mike.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
Good luck Mike Brown. Maybe he will thrive in Carolina due to the face that they have NO wr's outside of Kelvin.

Good luck Mike... Just not next year when you play the Jags. I hope you stink.
Bad hands cost him his shot here.

This will be interesting. He'll be competing for a WR spot with the GOAT, aka Stephen Hill.

I liked brown for the most part but he did seem to point down the last few times we saw him in action, but we just have so many players trying to make the cut that he didnt make it. Good luck to him.

Mike Brown showed some talent at times, just didn't have reliable hands and with younger, more promising talent, it was an easy move. I wish him luck. Always want someone's NFL to come true. Carolina may be a place for him to catch on

WR Mike Brown started the year on the 53 man roster, but finished on the practice squad.
He just signed a futures contract with the Panthers. That means he will not be in the Jaguars preseason's camps this year. per CBS Sports

Brown had horrible drops combined with the fact he was more of a slot guy. Slot guys don't last long in the league if they drop passes.
Can't wait to see whats next.
Eh ...no big loss. The Panthers will probably like his physicality as an offensive player.

Fun guy to root for as a longshot/underdog that actually showed up in about 4 games, but bottom line -- he was a project-position switch that just didn't have the hands to be an NFL receiver.
I hope he catches on as a #3 or #4 somewhere, but…. the cards were always stacked against him. Hoping the best for him, but not bitter about letting him go as the drops were just too much to forgive as the Jags build a new receiving core. |
