Baylor vs Michigan State
|
After watching Michigan State play defense, forget about Kurtis Drummond. He allowed 2 deep TD, you can cross him off Caldwell's list of FS. On the other side Oakman played well. Seems like his draft stock has dropped. He can play DE and DT. His size is a great upside but he would have to learn how to use it to his advantage. He will be a type of player it would take time to develop. But in the 2nd is Oakman a bad option? What if we go OL in the first? Please leave your thoughts here.

Yeah, there is a reason why he is currently rated as a late Rd 3 early Rd 4 pick. His 4.65 speed gets him burnt in single deep coverage.
Kurtis Drummond had a bad game. It happens. His overall body of work + the senior bowl will help paint a clearer picture of his draft stock.
Tony Lippett put together a good game offensively even though his snaps were limited and he was double teamed almost the entire game. And he showed some more raw potential at CB, he's been a two way player on and off since his freshman year at MSU. Oakman seems like a boom/bust guy to me.

Quote:I was unaware Oakman was returing Apparently he mentioned he was coming back but his own DC said he'd believe it when it happens. It appears his own coaches realize he's ready for the next level and won't be surprised if he opts to leave even though he's said differently before.
"Sucess Is Not a Goal, It is a By-product"
If we are going to judge a player on just one game, I guess you can say we shoiuld stay away from everybody on Baylor's defense because they gave up 41 points. See the problem with that?
Base your judgment of a player on his entire career, not just a bowl game against the best team in the Big 12. |
