Big Cat Country writes another glowing review of Tyson Alualu

#1

I picked out some highlights in the flattering article by our buddy Alfie Crow

Quote:With Bradley and his defense, Alualu finally found a role in the NFL and he's performed well at it. He's done a great job coming in and giving Red Bryant a breather, playing nearly as many snaps as Big Red this season.

Quote:Alualu even got killed in that role while having a great training camp, when most people harped on his sack totals and pass rush ability despite that being a minor responsibility of his position, and many media people had him not even making the roster in 2014.

Enjoy.

I wonder if Alfie bought stock high on Alualu and is forcing out these articles every few months in some attempt to raise his value.

Alualu has actually played well this season.. Its not his fault he was picked a round to high. Really no reason to bash how he has played this year.

Guy is trash.

Nothing new, Alualu will be defended to the death until he's no longer a Jaguar and then he was the worst thing to ever happen to this team and the sole reason for all of its woes. Same thing with every other draft pick, coach, and GM in Jaguar history.

The funniest thing is that most people on here annually predict that this will be the year that Allualu finally gets cut; and you know what? He ends up making the roster, and has been one of the few consistent run-stoppers.

I know that Gene Smith was a total failure as GM, but not all of his swings were totally strikes.

Why should Alualu be resigned? Because he's a nice guy? He's a depth/ special teams player, and not a very good one at that. There will be an upgrade available this offseason and they will pull the trigger.

You mean funny like the people who annually say he will "find his niche"?

I forget he is still on the team.  Talk about invisible

The guy has 26 tackles and 1 sack.  Less than 2 tackles a game.  Wow people have really lowered their standards

He plays the same role as Red Bryant. Bryant only has 20 tackles and a sack on the season. Hes got similar stats being a part time player.

Didn't all you marks promise you'd quit if he made the team the last two years?

But... but.. but.. its different though!

Same people on this forum are too dumb to see how players are actually playing so they go to the stat sheet.

Is Alualu a top 10 pick talent? No. Is he a valuable rotational 5T? Yes. That doesnt command a big contract. I hope and expect he will be back.

Alualu is an enigma to me.  The guy always seems to do just enough to stay on the team.  With all of the competition coming in now though, he might finally get squeezed out.  I think he's been serviceable, but there's probably better out there.  He makes plays, but just not consistently.

As a rotational guy he did play well.

(This post was last modified: 12-23-2014, 10:18 PM by The_Anchorman.)

So 3.9 million per year is reasonable for a backup below average DT?  Our Marks99 is making 3.0 mill per year as of right now... (Excluding the 600,000 bonus)

This is a dumb article!

Alfie is a hack.

He also said that Alualu, "is the most criticized" player drafted by the Jaguars.  Yet his Jungle signature still has the flame regarding Garrard, a player much better and productive then his man crush on Alualu...  Garrard, though an average QB, didn't deserve the ridiculous attacks laid on him by hacks like Alfie.  Especially considering that Alfie is now wanting to justify a 3.9 million dollar contract for a back-up DT just because we have the cap space.

LOL, what a joke.
