Sen'Derrick Marks can make a cool 600K tonight

If there was 1 guy on the team that deserved to hit his bonus clause, it was Marks.

Congrats big man, congrats, we are very happy to have you as a Jag.

Quote:Good for Marks!

It does put it into perspective that his bonus represents a decade of work for most people.

Seriously though, good for him.  I was rooting for him to do it.  And in a win, no less.

I could never dream of earning $600,000 in my lifetime.

When Ryan Davis sacked Charlie Whitehurst, I was like, "Good for him, but I wanted Sen'Derrick Marks to do it."  Turned out the timing could not have been better.

Yep, no silly dancing or making a fool of himself. He is a class act.

Well that's funny. He did the cash symbol after his sack a LA the same move Manziel oft gets criticized for doing.

I love his mic-d up response when Chris smith got the sack earlier in the game. No pouting but being a leader.

Perfect way to end the game, and it wasn't a garbage sack like Strahan's on Favre, either.

Well earned.

Johnny Manziel has not earned any incentive bonuses yet and I actually was thinking of something outrageous.

Yeah, I remember that one. Different situation though - the game result could not be changed on the play if Favre attempted a pass. Whitehurst would be an idiot if he told Marks to sack him.

A DT having 8 sacks is pretty impressive. He is our game changer on defense, and he eats up and splits double teams. Great signing by valdwell

I don't know who Valdwell is, but eight sacks is only impressive because all of our defensive linemen sack quarterbacks.

One of these is really Valdwell:

Baldwell

Caldwell

Daldwell

Faldwell

Galdwell

Haldwell

Jaldwell

Kaldwell

Laldwell

Maldwell

Naldwell

Paldwell

Qaldwell

Raldwell

Saldwell

Taldwell

Waldwell

Xaldwell

Yaldwell

Zaldwell.

Can our future MissJagsFanatic guess which one is correct?

I feel more contracts should be set up this way, its a performance based league and the players should get paid a certain amount for the risk of their bodies / lives but a majority of it should be based on how they perform during the season.  If you are doing what is asked and more you should get paid among the top for your position (but if you dont you shouldnt get paid tons ie M. Lewis for example).

8 sacks is impressive because it comes from the inside, as opposed to the edge rush.

Interior linemen rarely get double digit sacks and coming close is a great accomplishment.

I think only one interior linemen has more (Dareus - BUF) iirc.

Personally, I like the professional golf payment structure. You play like crap and you dont get paid, and are responsible for your own expenses either way.

If you work during 40 years in your life, making 15 000$ / years.

So yes, it's possible.

And thats the extreme example. Most of us make much much more.

The team's Defense is currently 27th overall, 20th against the pass & 27th against the run.

(the teams offense is 30th overall, 30th passing & 23rd in rushing)

Despite the fact that the team is 5th overall in sacks in the NFL with 42 the team is 31st overall in INTS with only 5 (Telvin Smith having one of them)!

The Defensive Line has played great, but the DBs need to improve.
