All 6 teams in the running for the playoffs this weekend won.  Most games were blowouts.  Kansas St was trying to make it a game late but Baylor consistently had a double digit lead.  FSU seemed to struggle the most and needed an onside kick to secure victory.

So two questions.... forgetting the playoff, who are the 6 best teams?  And then as far as the playoff, which 4 will get taken. Forgetting the playoff and looking at who is the best I would rank them in order...

Bama

Oregon

TCU

Ohio St

Baylor

FSU

As far as who I think makes the playoff....

Bama

Oregon

FSU

TCU

Bama and Oregon are obviously locks.  You can make a strong argument FSU isnt one of the 4 best but I just dont see how they will be excluded.  The last one is tough.  Obviously they like TCU more.  I agree and think TCU is better.  But how can you pick FSU on one hand and then argue that they chose TCU because they are the better than Baylor?  Clearly by taking FSU they are at least influenced by who deserves to go and not just best teams.  So why flip the argument around when clearly Baylor deserves to go over TCU.  Maybe they take the easy road out and drop all Big12 teams and choose Ohio St as the 4th team.

Of the three, Baylor(vs TCU) and Ohio St's(at Mich St) best wins are better than TCU's.  However TCU easily has the best loss.  TCU has the best non-conference win.  Ohio St struggled to beat more inferior opponents than both TCU and Baylor combined.  I just think from top to bottom TCU has played better from start to finish with only having played one bad game all year.  Ohio St and Baylor cant say that.

It does say something that the Noles are the only undefeated team in division 1 A. Division 1 A has 128 teams correct? Going undefeated is an incredible accomplishment and being the only one says a lot.

Anyone leaving FSU out of the top 4 is just a hater.

The ONLY undefeated team...

Alabama and FSU will be a great matchup.

Perfect scenario for an expansion of the playoffs come next year.  How can you justify leaving out TCU, Baylor or Ohio State?  I feel bad for the teams that get left out.  All 6 of the top teams deserve to be in it.

Alabama

Florida St

Oregon

Baylor

A team that lost @ home to Va Tech shouldn't get in, but they will. If Baylor was named Texas, this wouldn't be a question.

I don't hate FSU but I do hate the emphasis on being undefeated national champs because this is not 2013 anymore. They should be judged based on how they win, not simply if they won. How they won would be sufficient cause for keeping them out of the playoffs if the committee used that as a criterion because everyone else in the playoff race won in blowout fashion.

If you don't think the Buckeyes belong in it because of their loss to Virginia Tech, why do you want to see Baylor, whose only loss was to unranked West Virginia, instead of TCU, whose only loss was to Baylor?

Because Virginia Tech is atrocious beyond words. They lost in 2OT to Wake Forest 6-3. They are bad. And it was at home.

West Virginia is worlds better than Va Tech. Going 6-6 in the ACC is like going 3-9 in any other major conference.

That's an impressive win for Ohio state. I'll give then props there but I don't think they should bump any team in the top 4.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Why not? Baylor would have to jump two spots to get to #4. Ohio State only needs to slide up one spot. So if TCU goes down, you can't justify putting Baylor over Ohio State.

Oregon,Bama, FSU, Ohio St are who I believe are the four teams I think are playing the best football right now.

Also I can't fathom anybody believing FSU doesn't belong in the playoff.

We will get to see in the playoffs, no one saw FSU running the table again this year either.

I believe there are strong cases for OSU, TCU and Baylor to make the playoff. Think it has to come down to who had the best loss. Only reason why I have TCU in there.
