I wonder if they'll get the same flak that the Jags got during the 2008ish to 2012ish time frame.

It's clearly because of the racist moniker.

I'm confused. The article seems to be about resale market prices.

Is that incorrect?

What does this have to do with the team's ticket sales? Anyone selling their tickets secondhand has already paid the Redskins for their ticket.

It'll be noteworthy when people start giving up their PSLs and just not buying tickets anymore.

A few years ago Washington removed like 8,000 seats to make their capacity smaller.  The media picked up on the story, but seemed to justify it and applaud the Redskins.  We would have been crushed.

Nah, they're Washington. A proud and storied franchise with a rich history. They'll get a pass because no one's anxiously awaiting their move to London.

Also, the article deals only with second-hand market prices. The team doesn't care about those; they've already gotten full price for those tickets. Things will get more interesting if the people who paid full price for those season tickets opt not to do so in following years.

Agree.

Plus, it's pretty well known that what years ago was a bonafide waiting list, that their current so-called "waiting list" is likely a fraud.  Has been for about ten years.  The google is rich with articles on it.

Used to be that folks would have to put their children's name on the list if they wanted a chance to get tickets by the time they were adults.  Not so anymore.  In fact, many believe it's a bidder's market.  It's become such a sham, Snyder refuses to be transparent on the topic.  We do know for a fact that the removed seats were unsold, so that's what brought the "waiting list" unicorn back to life.

The story here is about seat squatters aren't getting their money back.  What this story tells us is that there are brokers and squatters giving up their seats to a new round of brokers and squatters, who will continue the cycle until no more brokers and squatters are willing to lose money on those seats.
