Tarkenton: RG3 will be in ‘Same Graveyard as JaMarcus Russell and Vince Young’

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — As Redskins fans continue to come to grips with the idea that Robert Griffin III may be done in Washington, as Jason Reid reported earlier this week, let’s check in with another highly <a class="" href='http://washington.cbslocal.com/2014/12/05/tarkenton-rg3-will-be-in-same-graveyard-as-jamarcus-russell-and-vince-young/#'><span style="font-weight:normal;font-size:100%;color:rgb(0,153,0);background-color:transparent;">mobile[Image: icon1.png]</span></a> (former) NFL quarterback.

Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton, in an interview with Jenny Vrentas for The MMQB, was asked about a litany of hot NFL topics, the Redskins franchise quarterback being one of them.

Odd, neither JaWalrus or Vinny Headcase are remotely like RG3.

Yes, RG3 is too frail to play the way he does for long, but he doesn't strike anyone as fat, lazy, dumb, or crazy...does he?

I don't see the comp either.

I think the best thing for RGIII would be to go somewhere far away from DC and accept a position as backup to an older QB. Somewhere that has a strong offensive mind as head coach. Somewhere like New Orleans or San Diego. That would require from humility from RGIII.

Yes you do. It sounds like another lazy "struggling black QB" comp.

RG3 in New Orleans would be a scary scenario. The Saints could probably get him for a second or third-round pick, he could spend a couple years on the bench learning behind Brees and then walk into command of one of the most dangerous offenses in the NFL. If any situation out there could "fix" Griffin before he goes to the Gabbert place, that's it.

Two of the 3 won the rookie of the year.

Two of the 3 made the pro bowl in their rookie year.

Maybe Young for on the field reasons. But almost no comparison to Russell.

I was under the impression he was comparing them because of the hype they generated when entering the league, not to mention young and rg3 where hiesman winners... But if you wanna play the race card, i guess that comparison is there too.

:"won the game" with a 5 yard dump pass then the Jets missed two tackles.

Any QB makes that play.

Yep, it looked like the New York Jags out there on that play.

A very short dump off turns into an 87 yd catch and run winning TD
