He steped down to pursue his life-long dream of performing at kid's parties as a clown.

I am shocked at this hire. I think Pelini was maximizing what you get out of Nebraska anymore. Reily has been less then special at Oregon St.

Oregon st was kind of no mans land going up against Oregon. I think reily is a good coach and I'm not sure Nebraska could have done much better.

The thought must be that he took over a program that was among the worst in the country and made them some what credible.

His team regularly wins 7 to 9 wins at Oregon State. They had not won more than 4 games the 25 years before he got there.

Dennis Erickson averaged more wins then Riley did. Riley had 3 win seasons and multiple 5 win seasons.

What do you mean? Erickson won 11 games his second year at Oregon State, largley with Riley's players. The next year they went 5-6. He coached one more year before leaving to coach the 49ers. Do you realize Riley was the coach before and after Erickson?

Wow, no, I did not realize that! I didn't know he had two stints.

Foot in mouth. But the one more year he coached he went 8-5, so I don't think he won because of Riley's players at all there then.

I am shocked Pelini is gone. Nebraska was the best team in the division with an 8-1 record before Melvin Gordon ran wild for over 400 yards. He was doing good things with the program.

Every conference has a few good teams, including the Big Ten. It is not like all 14 teams are horrible.

Ohio state stinks and would get whipped if they played at least the top 5 teams in the SEC

A lot of very good teams would get whipped by the top five teams in the SEC,so that does not mean Ohio State stinks.

I am not going to sit here and argue with someone who jjust wants to talk trash about my favorite team and its conference.
