East-West Shrine game/practice news and notes
|
The offseason is in full swing for all but 4 teams and Mike Kaye is keeping us caught up on potential Jaguars targets in this year's Shrine game:

For the East, the quarterbacks took "sacks" (non-contact) and were pressured throughout team drills. FAU defensive end Trey Hendrickson and Florida defensive end Bryan Cox made their home state proud by consistently beating offensive linemen in team drills and in one-on-one settings.

Great thread.
I have been high on Trey Hendrickson for a while. He would be an interesting late round pick for us.
De'von Smith intrigues me. A name to keep an eye on if we don't take a RB early.

Staubert has been probably the biggest star this week, as expected. Wish I had a feel for if we would be interested in drafting a TE this year. Another very good and very deep position in this draft.

Still, he made the most of his opportunities this year and as a 4th round pick could end up being a steal.

Brian Hill from Wyoming is my 4th round RB in this draft. How does he compare? Quote:I haven't watched him. Good size, how is his speed? Brian Hill from Wyoming is my 4th round RB in this draft. How does he compare? I like Hill too. Similar builds. Smith is a downhill runner with a comparable style similar to Ivory. He loves contact and he's always falling forward to get the extra yard or two out of each run. He's probably going to run in the mid 4.5's so definitely not blazing fast.

Currently I believe the consensus is rounds 3-5 but you're entitled to your opinion.

I think there's around 10+ running backs in this class who could start and do a good job at it.
