According to Jaguars.com Marion Hobby is the new D Line coach.

This is getting exciting!  After Clemson wins the National Championship.  We get the man who created the pressure to get to the qb.  And stop a powerhouse running game.

With our biggest need in the last ten years getting to the qb.  And creating pressure against luck and marcus and who ever ends in houston.  A good chunk every year.

Marion will be able to get Fowler going and continue to develop Yannick and many others.  Which will give us a legitimate opportunity to create turnovers.   And the desire to make plays.

If we can turn into something defensively like houston is currently.  We will be a true force to deal with.

Haha no, that is Christian Wilkins. He's not eligible until next year, and he will be long gone by the 3rd round
10 years ago we had Bob Hope, Johnny Cash, and Steve Jobs..... Please don't die, Kevin Bacon.

Quote:Fowler might end being "better" if utilized in a Dontae Hightower type role at the linebacker position, where he can blitz, cover, set the edge etc... a true jack of all trades but master of none. However, Fowler isn't in the same stratosphere as Beasley as an athlete, Vic is one of the best athletes in the league and is one if the better athletes to come out of college in the last 10 years. It's highly unlikely Fowler will ever be the pass rushing force Beasley is.
Beasley is a very good pass rusher, but he's nothing more than a DPR at this point. He highly benefits from being on a team that averages 33 points per game. High scoring Offenses will always benefit pass rushers.

Beasley is the exactly what you want in a DPR, with a high power Offense.

Yea, Fowler probably wont ever be a DPR like Beasley, but Fowler can be on the field for every single down, no matter what. He already hits on everything you want as a Defensive DL/front 7 player and he should only get better at pass rushing.

It's official:

Quote:"Marion Hobby is an excellent coach who breeds success and comes from a winning culture," Executive Vice President of Football Operations Tom Coughlin said in a statement. "In recent years, Marion has overseen the development of top-tier players who are currently experiencing success at the highest level in the National Football League. His coaching prowess and ability to maximize his players' abilities will bode very well for our organization."

"Marion Hobby is coming off a national championship-winning season and over the past six years, has helped establish Clemson as one of the premier defenses in college football," Jaguars Head Coach Doug Marrone said in a statement.

"I had the pleasure of coaching with Marion for two seasons in New Orleans and have personally observed his ability to get the most out of his players. Our team's ability to generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks and to stop the run will be key factors in our success moving forward and I feel that under the leadership and direction of Coach Hobby, those goals will be accomplished at a high level."

Excellent move. Probably the best hire on the defensive side of the ball.

Something tells me Jack will take over for Poz except I can see them splitting 3rd downs in nickel situations.
