Fixed. ESPN put the playoff order where the AP use to be.

Just the typical SEC bias.

Am I doing that right?

Shows that as the SEC teams knock each other off they won't hang around in the top 5-8 just because they lost to a good team. Possible a 1-loss Mississippi State and a 1-loss Bama gets into the playoffs, but no way a 2-loss SEC team does.

Finally, common sense creeps in.

Why is Ole Miss still ranked above Ohio State with two losses?

Obviously. If there was no SEC bias a 7-2 team would not be ranked higher than an 8-1 team.

3/5 SEC in top five.  overrated right?

Just because you have two losses doesn't mean you arent better than that team.  Ole Miss would wax Ohio State.

TCU could easily be in top 5. We will see how it ends at the end of season.

Is it bias, or are people logically thinking about this?

Either way, I don't see Ole Miss making it through without another loss or two.  They just lost probably their best player on offense and their qb makes bad decisions in crunch time.

I think Ole Miss will be behind Ohio State and the other weak schedule 1-loss teams when the committee rankings come out. I wonder if the polls here are echoing what they saw from the playoff rankings with LSU behind nearly all the 1-loss contenders.

No, because of something called SEC bias. If Ole Miss was in the ACC they would be ranked lower than Ohio State because of their two losses.

If Ole Miss was in the ACC they wouldn't have played and beaten the competition they have up to this point.....lets put a little thought into this.

Ohio State sucks and is going to lose AGAIN this weekend.  They got handled by Va Tech...go look at the year Va Tech has had and tell me OSU shouldn't be completely embarrassed by it.  Ol' Urbs loves to run up the score on scrubs though.

Logical thinking is 8-1 > 7-2, so Nebraska is supposed to be ranked higher than Ole Miss.

You also cannot say it is because Ole Miss played tougher opponents than #12 Nebraska and #5 Oregon, which has the same record, is not overrated at the same time because the Pacific 12 is no better than the Big Ten. How do you explain that one?

The Pac 12 is light years ahead of the Big 10.   Of the Big 5 conferences, the Big 10 is the weakest.

8-1 is not always better than 7-2.  If a team that is 7-2 has lost to two of the better teams in the country, and the team that is 8-1 lost to a pitiful team...then isn't it logical that the 8-2 team would beat the 7-1 team?

I get that Ohio State is one of the many....many teams you root for, but you are wrong.  Again.
